August, my sister, -not the strange boy I just met- was not born in the month of August as everyone likes to assume. She was born in December. So why did my parents name her August? Simple, they both preferred summer. They wanted their perfect first born baby girl to shine like the rays of the sun and have a giggle that sang symphonies. She would be perfect and warm and full of life, just like summer.

This August from my regrettable interaction this morning was actually quite the opposite of my August. She had honey hair and eyes blue as the ocean. His eyes a deep mahogany, hair a messy dark mop atop his head. But his features worked well together, soft and fairy like almost.

I catch myself daydreaming about this new August just as the bell rings and I come to my senses. I gather my things and walk out of the chemistry room. As I found the corner I am immediately met by Finley waiting patiently, smiling and waving me over to her. I sigh internally, plaster a smile on my face and approach her.

"How's it going newbie?" She asks, smile still on her face. "Get lost at all?"

"No. My old school is way bigger than this. It was actually way too easy to find my classes."

"Good! Hey, do you wanna go to lunch with me? I figured since you're new and all you don't really have anyone to eat lunch with."

"So you're assuming since I'm the new girl I don't have friends?" I ask.

She stares at me, with wide shock filled eyes."I- I mean I didn't mean-"

"Finley, I'm joking," I say, grabbing her shoulder.

She lets out an awkward laugh and sets her mouth into an awkward smile. "Right. Um, lets go to my car, I'm sure the others are waiting."

Oh great, the others.

Finley leads me to the student parking lot, talking my ear off about pointless things. She leads me to an expensive looking sleek black SUV with three other people standing around it. One of those people being August.

"Guys, this is Riley," Finley presents me to the group. The girl standing by the passenger door smiles at me sweetly. She looked a lot less, I don't wanna say annoying, but annoying than Finley.
She had a nose ring which suited her. I think I'll probably like her.

"Hi, I'm Josephine. But please never call me that, just call me Joey," she smiles and I return it.

"It's nice to meet you."

The other boy waves at me. His strong facial features took my by surprise, cheekbones higher than an addict.

"I'm Luca," he introduces himself shortly. I look over at August who was already looking at me.

"We've met before," he says. Finley looks from me to him, then back to me.

"Do you guys have a class together?" She asks.

"Yeah, we have LA together," I explain.

"Can we go please, I'm getting hungry," Joey complains. Finley rolls her eyes and pulls out her keys to finally unlock then doors. The car makes a clicking sound and the three quickly get in.

"You'll like them, I promise," Finley smiles as she opens the driver door and gets in.

"So where are we going?" Luca asks, as me him and August are all squished in the back seat.

"I don't know whatever you guys want," Finley answers, eyes on the road.

"I think it should be whatever Riley wants. You know sort of as a welcome thing from each of us," Joey turns in her seat to look at me.
