I open the front door to see the tv screen lighting up the room and three figures hidden underneath a blanket. Mom walks out of her room and smiles at me.

"Hi sweetheart. How was it?"

"Fine," I look down at Finley Joey and Luca who looked back up at me.

"I came home and they were still here. Said they watched a scary movie and got too scared to get up or do anything." Mom explains as she walks back into her room.

The three musketeers smile sheepishly at me.

"You owe me dinner and a movie," I flick Lucas head as I walk around the couch to face them. He winces and hold the spot where I hit him.

"Really? No kiss?" He asks, sitting up.

"Nope."

"Not even a peck on the cheek?" Joey questions.

"Nuh-Uh."

Finley eyes me. "So did you push him off or what?"

I roll my eyes. This girl could read me so well already, and it's only been a month. "Okay fine. We were like two centimeters apart and then one of his moms walked in, so we didn't."

They all squealed like preteen girls at a slumber party.

"Oh my gosh! I ship it!" Finley cups her face in her hands.

"No no no. There will be no shipping. Nuh-uh no," they all look at me, a little sad. "Sorry guys but you all know why."

Joey sighs. "Can't we all live our love fantasies through you, Ry?" She leans her head on the arm of the couch.

"Yeah. We all want a hot guy to be drooling over us. But right now it's just happening to you," Luca sighs.

"August is not drooling over me. And y'all are gross. That's gross. Go read a fan fiction or something," I throw a candy wrapper at him and he blocks it with a pillow as he laughs.

"Now get outta my house. Get!" I shew them all to the front door. Finley stops in the door way and turns to me.

"By the way, change of plans for tomorrow. We're having a lake day at my place. It's gonna be hot, and I mean hot tomorrow."

Dear August,

So yeah. I totally failed on that whole 'try not to fall for August' shtick. Cause I'm sort of falling straight onto my face for him. Anyways, I think I'm getting a little better. Having close friends like this is turning out to be good for me. I'm not constantly upset at everything. I'm actually smiling and laughing instead of faking it.... and I'm feeling, I don't know.... love I guess? I gotta get going, I'm going to Finley's today for a lake day. Did I tell you she lives in a mansion and owns a lake and all that? I'll tell you some other time, I gotta get going I'm pretty sure they're here. We'll talk soon.

With love,
Riley

As of right on cue, a horn honks outside. I fold up the letter and throw it into the shoe box beneath my bed. I grab my bag with a towel and slide on some sandals.

Finley was right. It's fucking hot. My legs were sweating on her cars leather seat even though we had the AC on full blast all the windows down, and I was only wearing a tank top and shorts.

"So are you wearing a super hot bikini?" Finley wiggles her brows at me. I roll my eyes.

"Yes it is a two piece bikini, but it's not sexy or anything. Stop sexualizing me," I joke, crossing my arms over my boobs. She rolls her eyes and laughs.
