Daydreaming while she's at work has had Katrina going bonkers. Her work day has had her pretty bored. She is literally just standing behind the counter waiting for people to come through. She knows she must be upbeat and smile. She knows she must continue to push herself. She just lets her mind travel to another time and place. She starts thinking about when she used to sit at her school library. She thought about how excited she got each time she would check out another book.

For Katrina the library was one of her favorite places in the whole world. She was a nerd and for her, school was the one place she felt she could do whatever she liked and not get in trouble. She liked being in class and being able to work on homework while her classmates were still working. She liked having the chances to do extra credit work. She knew she put more on herself than others. She just always knew her parents expected more from her. She wanted to make them proud. At the same time, she was doing it for herself because she wanted better for herself.

As Katrina was coming out of her trance, people started to come in, Katrina got happy when she saw a family come in. The parents had got their children library cards. It made her smile since she remembered what it was like when she got hers. She thought about how her mom used to say, "when it comes to you, all I got to do is buy you a gift card to the bookstore." Katrina always laughed, but she knew it was true. She loved to read and loved to write. She loved school and when she was a kid, she had asked her parents if she could stay in school for the rest of her life.

Katrina did her best in school. She had to push herself to get through certain tasks, but she was proud to have graduated with A's and B's. She kept trying to keep up a high honor roll. As her eyes traveled around the library, she knew it was time for another cleanup round. By the time 8 o' clock came around, Katrina had already done inventory and put all the books back on the shelf. She was thankful to have had a good day. When she got in the car, she sent a text to Michael. She let him know she was headed home, and she told him she loved him.

When she got home, she showered and changed. She went to her writing space and typed up a journal entry. She knew it was time to get back into gear. Katrina even started working on a free write. She just started writing about what popped into her head. When she got done, she had three whole pages. She saved the document and left the room. She went in the kitchen. She wanted something to snack on. She found a bag of Chex Mix in the cabinet. She opened the bag and went to the living room. When she turned on the TV, she started watching the movie Halloween. When she was a kid, she was afraid of the scary movies.

Katrina let the thought pass her mind. Katrina got back to watching the movie. When it was over, Katrina had eaten half the bag. She closed the bag and turned off the TV. She decided to listen to music before she went to sleep. Katrina grabbed her phone and went to her room. She turned on her music and laid down. She let the music take it away. She dozed off into a sound sleep. The next morning, Katrina got up at 5 am. She still heard her music playing. Katrina got up and showered. She got dressed and went and ate breakfast. She sent a text to Michael.

He was on his way home from the hospital. Katrina was glad she would see him before she went in. She missed him, and she was glad she found another remedy to get to sleep. She still slept better when he was there, and she hoped it wouldn't ever change. She ate a bowl of oatmeal and went to her writing space. She sat down to the computer and just started typing. She was working on the free write. She figured she could turn it into something. She knew her life taught her that much.

Once she was finished, she thought about the bucket list she had. Suddenly, she heard a key turning. Michael walked in and looked pale. He was tired, and it showed. Katrina came out the room and gave him a hug and kiss. He said, "baby, it was a long night. I'm tired and I want to sleep." "That's fine. I got my routine ready to go and you can sleep the whole day." "Thanks, but I want my wife beside me." Katrina smiled. He gave her a longing look. She said, "okay, but once you're asleep I got to clean up."

"The house is fine. You are fine and all I want is to have you there in the bed." "I know what you mean. Let's get you showered and into bed." Katrina watched as he headed to the room. She loved taking care of the house. She knew Michael was going to want her attention since he was tired. They have always cuddled up with each other and fallen asleep. It was one of her favorite things to do with him. Katrina went to the room and found Michael laying on the bed looking at her. He said, "well, are you coming to bed?"

"Yes." Katrina walked over to the bed and sat down. Michael wrapped his arms around her. Katrina was happy she could sit with him. She was glad she was only going in on cleaning the house instead of having to go to the library. She would have had to sneak out when he was asleep. Michael was like a child when he got sick. Katrina got comfortable and ended up going to sleep with him. As Katrina was sleeping, she began to dream. She dreamt she was winning an award for one of her stories. Suddenly, as she was giving her acceptance speech, she felt like someone was shaking her. It woke her up. When she got up, it was just Michael moving her, for him to move. Katrina said, "baby, what's the matter?" "I was just moving you over, I have to use the bathroom." "Oh." She rolled over and he got up. He went in the bathroom, and Katrina started to doze off again. When she thought she had reached the tip of being asleep, Michael started kissing her neck. Katrina said, "you're going to start something and then we will both be sick."

Michael said, "no, it will transfer to you, and then I will get to take care of you and force you to stay in bed." "What if I don't want to?" "You will have no choice. It will be doctor's orders and I will call the library and let your boss know." "You're no fun." "I may not be, but I do know you don't ever let yourself heal properly when you are sick. You certainly don't like to listen to anyone else either." "True." Katrina knew he was right. She gave him a kiss and then laid on his chest. Katrina and Michael laid together and went back to sleep. When they finally woke up again, it was 10:08pm. Katrina got up and went to the bathroom. When she got up, she saw Michael on the floor. She got on her knees and was tapping him. He rolled over and said, "baby, just go back to sleep." "Babe, you are literally on the floor." "Oh." He got up rubbing the back of his head and they got in the bed.

As the night passed, Katrina was coughing and sneezing. She knew laying with Michael was going to get her sick. She said it was going to happen and he didn't want to listen. Now she was sitting here dealing with a stuffy nose and she can't enjoy her rest since she feels like she can barely breathe. Her coughing and sneezing woke Michael up around 6am. She was in the middle of sniffling when Michael said, "baby, you better not leave this bed." She started mocking him. Michael said, "you can be mad all you want. I want you well rested and feeling strong." "Fine, but I don't have to like it." When 9 o' clock came around, Michael called Katrina's boss and let him know she was sick, and she would be out for the week. He let him know he was going to take her to the doctor for her excuse. Katrina said, "sometimes I feel like work is like school." "At times it does. You just have to go with it and beat the odds."

"Fine I get what you mean." After that, Michael went and got Vicks vapor rub and put it on her chest. He got a warm washcloth and put it on her forehead. Katrina was shocked Michael stayed with her. When they were laying down, Katrina was feeling at peace. She was thankful she had him at a time she needed him. Katrina and Michael woke up feeling wide awake and refreshed. When Michael left for work, he left some Tylenol and some Theraflu on her nightstand. He gave her a kiss on the forehead and went out the door. When Katrina got up, she took some of the Theraflu and took two Tylenol's. Katrina got out of the bed and started cleaning up. She made sure she stopped and ate. She ate two bowls of vegetable soup. When she got done, she cleaned up some more and then went back to her room. When she laid down, she heard the door.
