Chapter 20

I couldn't let you in on what was going on, because I figured it was me just destroying myself. I also knew you were working and so was I. I figured I would just continue to write it all out until I felt better. I just blocked everything else out. I apologize. Will you forgive me?" Katrina scooted closer to him. She laid her head on his shoulder. She knew she just needed to give him time. She knew he was going to need it. She knew Michael was a good doctor and he could diagnose her, if he got his supervisor to check her as well. She wasn't worried about that. She just had her own method of getting things done. Katrina waited for him to answer. He said, "baby, you know I can't stay mad at you. I love you too much." Katrina said, "baby, I am so glad you said that." They kissed, and he held her tight. He whispered in her ear. He said, "you know I own you right?" Katrina said, "yes." She was wondering what he was thinking.

Forming all the words together with telling him how she was feeling, was making her feel better. Maybe she didn't need to write about it anymore. Maybe now instead all she needs to do is talk about it. Now as an adult if she says it out loud, it should give her release. She won't have to worry about hearing that she is a child and certain things are best left unsaid. Katrina was just thinking and putting it on paper. She knew if changes happened, she had someone to lean on. Michael is there to serve a purpose. He isn't just there for a season. She isn't going to wake up and he has disappeared. She knows it's her greatest fear. Little does she realize it's one of Michael's fears too. He knows she can take care of herself. He just wants to be there for her as much as he is at work. He knows in order to keep their relationship on the right track, he must put forth the effort. He must do what he can to show her he is there for her. He wants her to know he isn't going anywhere.

Everyone knows you aren't promised tomorrow. They know with time things change. They know that you must go with the flow. Everyone gets to where the routine keeps them busy every day. We all know how life goes and we try to commit ourselves to do what we need to, just to survive. With Katrina and Michael being at work and paying the bills, they know they can save to go on trips. They just know they have worked a whole lot in the coming weeks prior to them going. They know when it comes time to go to Italy, it will be another two years. They know they must push hard and work smarter just to get enough. Katrina and Michael will continue to push until they know they can't anymore. Katrina knows she wants to be the best librarian she can be. She wants to be the supervisor and be the one to get everyone on the right path.

She wanted to do more with her life. She wanted to show herself she wasn't stuck in a rut. She knew she could be ruthless at times when she was at work or when she just got done sending off a manuscript. She just wanted to keep a level head. She knew her life mattered and she needed to prove to herself there was no one who could take it from her. She wanted her confidence and boldness to show. She didn't want to feel less than. She knew with thinking about her past, it was making her do so. She had to understand she has come up from it. She overcame those obstacles and she is still standing. She has her health, she has a wonderful job and she can write if she chooses to all day. On top of that, she has a great, strong and sexy doctor. She is literally living the dream. Not too many women could say they are married to a man who worships the ground she walks on and who is willing to go to the ends of the earth to make her happy.

Katrina knew at the end of the day she was a lucky woman. She just had to get herself back to smiling and knowing she has all she could ever want. She knows that her life will continue to expand and when her and Michael have children, she will have a new job. She knows she has always wanted better for her children. She knows that with life you must be patient and just take it in stride. You can't always be serious about everything. You must know when to have fun. She knows its one of the reasons why she likes laughing with the girls at work or teasing Michael all the time. When it comes to Michael, she shows all of herself and doesn't care. With him he sees her in every way, and she doesn't have to worry about her insecurities showing. He loves her despite all of that. She likes the people she works with but loves Michael despite some of his issues too. Life is never perfect, but she knows her happiness is worth a whole lot.

One Monday when Katrina got home, she found Michael sitting at the kitchen table. She walked over to him and saw him with his head down. She leaned down and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He was asleep, but as soon as he felt her touch his arm, he popped up. He said, "hey honey, I was just resting my eyes." "I saw you. Why aren't you in the bed?" "I was waiting for you." He had that longing look in his eyes. Katrina knew that look and she was prepared. She was prepared for them to make love. She knew she needed to make up for her behavior. She knew Michael was happy with her cooking. It's one of the reasons why he wanted to marry her. Michael said, "are you ready for bed?" Katrina knew he was tired when he said that. She pushed the thought of sex out of her mind. She said, "yeah, I just need a shower." When Katrina went in the shower, Michael was in the room undressing. He hopped in the bed and got under the blankets.

When Katrina came out, she had on her favorite lavender silk nightgown. She walked to her side and put her clothes in the hamper. She sat on the bed and put lotion on her legs. She said, "I know I have been neglecting you and I apologize. I promise to make it up. I know we haven't been physical in over two weeks. I promise I will get better." Michael had a deep grin on his face. He said, "oh yes you will." He tugged on her arm, and she went to him. Michael and her started kissing, and he was feeling all over her legs. Katrina was beginning to get tense. She knew just with Michael's touch, she was going to fall apart. She knew if Michael went any further between her legs, she was going to be a goner.
