With each passing moment, Katrina pushed herself. She wanted to make sure she left that day with everything being right. She couldn't wait for her and Michael to get away. They were foing to be gone for a full week. They were going to go skydiving on the firs day. Then they were going to see the Grnd Canyon. Katrina was happy Michael had everything planned. She knew she could trust him. She always wodnered if she woulf ever have enough time to do it all. She knew she had to learn to make time. She knew with all the thinking she was always having herself do, there was no way she would be thinking straight enough to put anything into action. She knew with all the talks she had with Michael and then finding out he had her list, he was going to think of something. She just never expected for him to sit down and plan out trips of when and where.
When the day was over, Katrina was happy she had the requested off days. She even left a note saying she would make up for the hours when she got bad. Her boss knew she was good for it. Katrina locked up and called Michael. When he got there, they kissed, and they talked about their day. Katrina told him about her excitement. They talked all the way home. Michael said, "babe, you must have put the list in the wrong drawer. I was glad I had found the list. I have been wanting to spice things up. I didn't want to keep doing the same old stuff. I know how much you love those romance movies. I know how much you like adventure too. Your bucket list has the right amount of balance. I got to know where you want to go and what you want to do. It surprised me to know you had a list let alone be willing to do all these things before you pass."
"I mean everyone has a bucket list. I just never thought about using it now. I'm glad though. With me losing my memory and such, I had wanted to do many things. I have felt alone at times. There are times when I just sit and write because I know I could be doing a whole lot more. I just didn't want to ask you, and have you given me a dumbfounded look." Michael chuckled. He thought she was kidding. He said, "baby, we all have a bucket list. We all feel alone at times. The best thing to do is to push past it. You have pushed me past a ton of my hurtles. I am going to help you achieve being able to see and do the things on your list. Nothing would make me happier then to see your face light up." Katrina could tell he wasn't lying. She couldn't get over the fact she has a good man. She knew they were hard to come by.
When they got home, they took showers and changed. They decided to have a quiet night together. They ate dinner and watched The Lake House. It was one of Katrina's favorite movies. Michael couldn't understand why Katrina liked the movie. For her it was like watching certain books come to life. She liked seeing the story come to life. She liked how it played out in the end. She was worried they wouldn't ever see each other again. Katrina thought about Pride and Prejudice and The Notebook. She thought about how those books inspired her. She thought about if maybe the author had read those books too. While they were watching the movie, they got comfortable. By the time, Katrina was comfortable laying on him, Michael had already started dosing off.
They had their bags packed and their passports ready. When they got up, they got ready for the trip. Katrina made sure she was bundled up. She had on three layers of clothing. Michael only had on two layers of clothes. When they got in the car, Katrina was glad the heat worked. She was glad Michael chose to drive. She knew she would be the one driving on the way back. When they got to the skydiving school, Katrina was nervous. She was hoping everything would go smoothly. She knew that in movies there were stunt doubles. She knew that people used test dummies and there could be dangerous situations. Katrina listened as the instructor spoke. She looked over at Michael and he was just frozen. She didn't know if he was worried, scared or was just wondering if he should turn back now. Michael took her hand they followed the instructor.
He took them on the plane. Katrina held Michael's hand the whole time. When they were strapped up and sitting down, Katrina said a prayer. She prayed they would make it out alive. She asked for their to be hope and good wishes for all those attempting to go through with skydiving. When they got all their instructions and had on their gear, the instructor said it was time. Katrina closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Michael said, "I'm right here with you. I got you." "You better." She knew it was her idea, but she figured she would have gained some more courage before she attempted to do it. When they got to the right place to jump, her and Michael held hands and went out the plane. As they were going down, they pulled out their shoots, and Michael snapped a couple of photos. He got three good pictures of them going down.
He said, "baby, that felt like a rush. We do have a whole bunch more to explore. You can cross skydiving off your list." "True. Thank you for doing it with me." "What kind of husband would I be if I let you do all of this alone? Besides with me doing it with you, I know you will come back safe and sound. You will also know I'm safe too." "You have a really good point." When they landed, they took off their gear and waited for the instructor to come down. When they were all together, they headed back to the school. When they got there, they got their certificates for taking the course and they also headed back to the car. When they got back into the car, Katrina said, "that was exhilarating. I was scared but we did well. It's off to the next task." Katrina pulled out her list and crossed off number 6 on her list. They headed out onto the road.
As they drove back to the house, they kept arguing about whether to drive to the Grand Canyon or not. Michael said, "for us to enjoy it, and take in the scenery we should drive. I think it will be alright." Katrina said, "of course you do. Your adrenaline is still pumping. I love you but I'm not too sure." "We have the heat in the car. Not to mention it's a place filled with rocks. I know for sure we will be okay. We just got to make sure we don't drive over the edge." "Okay, but I hope you are correct. I don't want to die today or any time soon." "Babe, you worry too much. Just go with the flow and I'm telling you, everything will be just fine. We got this." "Alright. I hear you. Besides, I don't want to keep arguing." "I'm glad you see it my way." Katrina said, "yeah well let's get through this trip." While they were driving, they stopped for gas three times.
On the car ride up there, they played music, and Katrina used her GPS. She knew she was going to lose signal soon. She grabbed her map out of the glove compartment. Michael was giving her directions, and she was praying the whole way there. She wanted to make sure God heard her. All you heard was singing from the radio, and Katrina saying, "Lord, please let us make it there and back." Michael was thankful his parents and him used to go traveling a lot when he was a kid. He knew how to handle the situation. He made sure he kept her calm. He knew once the trip was all over, Katrina was going to have some strength and a new attitude. He just hoped she was still going to love him. When they got there, it was a Thursday afternoon. When they got there, they parked and got out. They took a whole bunch of photos.
Katrina finally took the time to scream. She was happy she could scream out loud. Michael was wondering why she was screaming. Katrina said, "I know it shocked you. I have had a lot built up. I have never been able to just come out and scream. I have been wanting to for a long time. I do feel better though. Go ahead and try it. You need the release. It will do you good." With sarcasm in his voice, Michael said, "of course it will." Katrina laughed at the comment. She put her hand on his shoulder and said, "well then we aren't leaving until you do it. I have the car keys." She had the keys in her back pocket. He couldn't chase her since they were literally standing on top of a bunch of rocks. "Okay, I will try it." Katrina clapped her hands and watched as Michael came out with a big scream. She didn't know his voice could do that.
On the ride back home, Michael and her traded off a couple of times. They even decided to stop at a hotel when they were knowing they were close to home. When they were in the room, they plopped on the bed, and were out like a light. When they got up in the morning, they showered and changed. They made out for a little bit and then they got something to eat. Once they were doing eating breakfast, they paid for the room and then got back on the road. When they got home, it was Friday night. It was 10:39pm when they got in the door. When they got in the door, they unpacked and put their clothes in the laundry and started a load. They used their next two days off as days to sleep. They got some well needed rest. They were refreshed and ready for the day. When they got back to work, everyone wanted to know about the trip. Katrina told everyone about how it went. She was excited about it.
