I stared at Ouma as they completed their story of what happened to them as they wiped tears from their eyes.
'There you have it' he signed taking a deep breath 'now you know everything' they gripped their hands tightly for a second.
"Ouma...I am so sorry" I told him and he froze 'huh, your the first person whose actually said that' my eyes widened at his statement.
"What do you mean I am the first?" I asked and Ouma shrugged 'since most think it was because we tried to commit suicide they just ask why and what they did wrong, never have they apologized for me having to go through something' he admitted.
"You said you weren't talking as a tribute to your friends...so what changed that? Why are you speaking now?" I asked.
Ouma looked up and whether intentional or not he stared me directly in my eyes 'because that idiot made me realize something' I raised an eyebrow.
'That if I want anything to change I need to tell the truth' he stated 'the real truth and remember it so I can finally avenge them'
Avenge...? Is he thinking about hurting the people responsible?
'I don't really know what I am doing right now, but' Ouma paused 'it feels ok talking to you' he admitted 'you make me feel calm and like everything's ok when I know it isn't' he stared off into space in thought.
'I wonder why' he signed, 'your the first person I told this to, not even Momota' Really? They are so close though...'but Saihara, if you are willing to stay by my side even though it's dangerous' he started.
'Then I would love to be your friend' I walked up and crouched so I could meet him eye level and nodded "I promise Ouma, I'm not going to leave you behind or make you forget anything" I swore "I will support you and together...I'm sure we can help you" I gave him a hopeful smile. I wonder...if he could tell I was smiling...?
I looked to the ground, now just how do I do that now...? This whole town is under the same spell of believing this lie...so getting help here is impossible...but...in order to get him proper help I would need to-
*BANG*
A shot rang in the distance as my window shattered into pieces and a bullet dawned the wall.
My eyes widened in shock, oh my goodness I nearly got shot...wait a second- OUMA!
I quicky turned around to see him shaking and I looked at him "Ouma..." he then tried to control his breathing as I noticed a rock thrown in through the same broken window.
It had a note attached which I grabbed and read cautiously.
Stop looking, there is nothing to be found and join our family
I shuddered from the letter and grabbed Ouma's chair heading out of the room.
"We need to go" I told him "I have a feeling that whoever is in charge doesn't exactly like me" I told him.
He seemed to have controlled himself as he nodded 'no going back now I hope you know that' he told me and I looked up confidentially for once.
"I know, and I am ready" I then paused at my aunt who was no longer at the couch.
"Actually...since you told me your secrets...it's time I admit to mine" I told him and he looked at me confused.
"I didn't come here because I moved...and I didn't come to that school because I wanted to' I told him.
"The truth is I was always meant to work on this case"
