That day, on that strange but wonderful Tuesday, when Jenny skived off from her studies and work to investigate her new powers of hyrdrokinesis and cryokinesis (using her mind to control water and ice respectively), she spent hours testing everything out on the oak tree. She soaked it until it was drenched through, then froze it solid until the leaves turned completely frosty and the tree bark itself was almost shimmering. When she felt calm and collected enough, she even tried shooting sharp fragments like she'd accidentally done back at the flat, with one of them managing to shoot straight through a thin branch and snap it right off from the rest of the tree. Every method was tried and tested.

And she could also evidently use her abilities when she didn't have the gemstone from Triton with her, so she wasn't as reliant to have it with her completely all of the time. Clearly whatever the crystal had bestowed upon her in the first place was biological and part of her DNA now, not needing an inanimate object nearby to hand any of it to her.

Then after her glorious few hours gaining just that little bit more control, she snuck back home, luckily still not seen by anyone from the library or uni. And by now, both the shard which had been shot into her bedroom wall and the frozen glass of water on the table next to her bed had thawed out entirely, to her relief, as this proved that the effects weren't permanent.
The rest of the week had gone by in much more of a flash after this due to her passing her imagination time by picturing all the things she could do with her powers, whilst still keeping everything a secret from everyone, including Eleanor and Sandra, 2 of her closest friends as she'd known Eleanor since they were little and met Sandra on the Internet 5 years beforehand, but she'd tell them both when the time was right.

The recent events did bring immense excitement to her veins and her brain, but it also called forth more questions that, instead of relying on physically using the abilities, could only be answered by having mental debates privately like there was an entire parliament residing in a city in the innermost parts of her mind. Like, for example, what caused the Neptunian substance formed into a marquise diamond shape to descend onto her planet, how powerful could it possibly be if it could give a mere human super powers, and what else would she be able to do because of this?

Soon, the weekend and another Sunday evening viewing session with Ells had passed by, with the younger lady gaining more control by practicing in secret when she was 100% positively sure that she was alone and no one could see her. The money from work kept rolling in as usual on the weekdays as well as working on more animations on her computer to complete her art assignments until it had been just over a week since the extraordinary happened, making it now Wednesday the 28th of November. Almost the end of the month.

The field where she'd first gone on Tuesday 20th was, by this time, a usual spot for Jenny to retreat to. A sort of safe sanctuary where her only companion to spy on her superhuman activities was the wind whistling through the land and the trees. She steadily approached the familiar oak tree that night after work as always, when it was almost dark and the sunset was making its farewell on the horizon, becoming more and more exhilarated by the day because of just how... impossible this all seemed. How story-like it was. It was sort of like the events of a sci-fi film; never expected to take place in real life, and yet here she was, about to continue to master the codes of power laid inside her DNA.

And when she started remembering how, in the other anime she'd watched before, it was mostly centred around magical girls, like in Senki Zesshou Symphogear or Hyperdimension Neptunia, and as a result was full almost to the brim with transformations from normal-looking girls into weapon-wielding warriors (WOW that was a fair bit of alliteration right there), it was at that moment when there was a warm feeling spreading throughout her body, but especially her chest and head. Then upon looking down at herself once she felt this temporary warm feeling subside, the feelings running through her soul were an exotic blend of thrill and dread, but more thrill, like when she'd first discovered her power a week ago.
