S1 E7: Titan's Wrath [Part 2/2]

I strongly recommend listening to the song above while reading this first intense bit of this part.  :3

The trio was off like a shot, with the female grabbing her phone, the gem and a couple of bottles of water on their way out of the flat and stuffing them into the pockets of her duffel coat which she put on, and they made a mad dash across the landing and down the stairs in a flash because of wanting to hurry so that they wouldn't be seen by the men down below in the car park.

After jumping down the last 3 steps because of how urgently they had to flee, Italy looked at the exit doors and shuddered. "If we go out of the exit of this tower block they'll be right outside waiting for us and then we'll be caught again like mice in a mousetrap..." He muttered to the other pair.

"Already taken care of!" The girl answered, making a beeline for the fire exit on the other side of the foyer. Obviously these were only ever supposed to be used in case there was a fire and if people urgently needed to get out of the building in the event of that, so another thrill sent a pulse wave right through all of her veins at breaking another rule.

"Is that why you parked the car around this side of the building when we drove back last night?" Queried Germany.

"Yep! Just in case we needed to make a quick getaway and we couldn't go out through the front door." And after opening the fire escape doors, while also being careful not to be seen from outside through the windows on the front doors, they all scrambled towards the blueish-black BMW, with her unlocking it using a button on her car keys as they ran, and she climbed into the driver's seat while Ludwig got in the passenger seat next to her and Feliciano clambered into the back seats. All of them promptly put on their seat belts.

She turned the key in the ignition, her hand shaking somewhat from anxiety and nervousness, and the engine hummed into life, with her trying to forget her sense of fear and focus solely on the task at hand, although the knot in her stomach was still tightened a little bit at the fact that not only did she need to escape from a raving nutjob, but also the lives of 2 other people were in her hands to get them to safety as well.

She pressed her heel down gently onto the accelerator pedal, making the tires turn as the car drove away from that side of the building and out onto the front, exposing it to the full view of the men from the lab. For a couple of seconds, the girl stared out of her driver's side window and directly into the eyes of Keates, who instantly started smirking and reaching for the gun in his pocket. Her blood ran cold.

"Go go go go go go GO!" Urged Italy in a panic, so then she forced the toe area of her boot a lot harder onto the pedal, sending the BMW speeding away, causing some gunshots to be heard as the scientists tried shooting at it, managing to land one or 2 bullets in the back of the outside of the car as it sped away.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god..." The driver was saying to herself worriedly as she could sense an impending car chase.

Sure enough, the sinking feeling in her stomach about this turned out to be correct, because only mere moments later, there was the screeching of other tires as a white Mazda 6, almost as white as the coats which the men chasing them wore a lot of the time, pulled onto the road behind them in hot pursuit.

"We've got company!" Informed Germany, noticing this.

"I'm gonna try to outmanoeuvre them!"

She made a swerve on the road this way and that, but the car behind them followed in the exact same directions, and she noticed in the rear view mirror that it had none other than the men's leader himself in the driver's seat, his leather-gloved hands firmly clutching the steering wheel and his eyes fixed straight ahead. Some of the men in the pursuing Mazda, while their boss drove, leaned a little out of the windows, pistols in hand, and tried firing at the tires so that they could bring the other car in front of them to a halt.
