JAYCEE'S P.O.V

I sliced my chicken with my knife and fork, and shoved it into my mouth. The silence at the table was growing by the second, making me very uncomfortable. I just needed somebody to break it, once again.

"Jaycee, how was your day?" My mother said folding her arms in front of her, leaning in slightly. I swallowed my morsel, along with the lump growing in my throat.

"Good. I went over to Sabrina's house for some time to catch up with her," I had another bite and was about to continue until she said,

"That's good. You two haven't seen each other in about a week," she took a sip of water.

I nodded my head, continuing, "then I headed over to Calum's and we watched a movie and he had some of his friends there too," I said putting food into my mouth.

"Why didn't you tell me you were going to Calum's house? And do I know these friends Jaycee?" Here we go.

"So I have to ask to go to my boyfriends house but not Bri's?" I gave her the most questioning look. My father just continued eating, looking very troubled.

"Your boyfriend? He's your boyfriend?" My mother basically spat out as my dad coughed drinking his water. I guess he was too concentrated on the awkwardness in this room, that he didn't hear the word the first time.

"Yes mother. He's my boyfriend or maybe he is. I dont know exactly what we are but I know that we are dating." Well, we weren't exactly dating either but there was definitely some sort of relationship between Calum and I.

"You don't even know what the status is! You're just confused Jaycee, maybe give it some time!" Her voice high-pitched, practically begging for me to not see Calum.

"What is the thing that bothers you about Cal mom?" I asked, my eyes pleading for an answer; a real answer.

She sighed and looked down then back up at me. "I just don't want you getting caught up in a relationship and then dropping your other priorities. Especially for this boy where he just wants something out of th-"

I stood up from my chair immediately. "Mom!" I was fed up. "Do you not see that I'm happy with him? For heavens sake, I've known him for years and you have too! Honestly, he's one of the- actually, he is the sweetest guy I've ever met and I'm damn lucky to call him mine and I feel happy around him and if you can't accept that, I'm really sorry but you're going to have to learn to because I cannot tolerate all the negative things you say about him. I'm done for tonight. Bye," I grabbed my plate and put it in the dishwasher and left, noticing my mother's mouth open and her eyes wide and my father just sitting there, completely frozen.

My feet ran up the stairs and I changed into black leggings and an oversized sweater and I ran downstairs to the door, slipping on my black vans. "Where do you think you're going?" My mom asked walking from the kitchen towards the door.

"To Calum's. And sorry if you have a problem about that," I slammed the door shut in her face. Everyone has not seen the good in Calum, except me. I whipped out my phone, still standing outside the door texting him that he shouldn't bother coming over like he planned. I stuffed my phone into my pockets, and started walking down the streets. They were lit up slightly with the warm white lights and the night was cool with a breeze. I continued walking straight down, passing two small intersections and i turned right on the third one and continued down that street and knocked on Calum's door.

I saw him open it up. His hair was messy in small ways on his forehead, as it stuck out of his beanie and he was only wearing sweatpants; just my luck. "I know it's only been a few hours but holy crap Jay, I've missed you," he said yawning, and opening his arms up, making me walk right into them.

Calum's hug was much needed. I felt all my worries escaping as his built arms curled me in, and his arms wrapped around my waist, so tightly, and he lifted me up slightly so my head was on his bare chest. I was on my tippy-toes hugging him from in between his torso and his arms, my arms folding up against his back. "Let's get you inside. It's chilly," he mumbled onto my head.

"Well you can definitely heat up the place," I mumbled quietly to myself, blushing like I usually do.

"Jay? What was that?" He started laughing. Dammit, he wasn't supposed to hear that. I mumbled nothing but he swung me over his shoulder as I screeched and begged for him to put me down. "Not until you repeat what you said," he teased.

"Put me down first." I knew he'd do it right away. He sat me on the kitchen counter as he started making hot chocolate; my favourite. "I said 'you can definitely heat up the place'," i said looking at the ground, trying to conceal my smile.

"Look into my eyes," he started saying, "and say it," he licked his lips, making my heart race up immensely.

"Cal, I-"

"Jay."

"But cal," I whined and pouted, swinging my legs. He sighed.

"I was kidding. But Jay?"

"Yeah?"

"That was adorable," he said pouring the water into mugs and handing one to me. My fingers curled around the mug, holding onto it, and taking a sip. Calum sipped his then sat his mug down and put his hands on the edges of the counter as he lunged, trapping me. I put my mug beside his and bent over, still sitting on the counter, Cal and I not even an inch away from each other.

"So, are you feeling warmer?" He asked in such a deep voice. I nodded, sucking on my lower lip. "Was it the drink or me that helped?" He smirked so widely, and I leaned back and scoffed.

"Definitely the drink Calum," I said with attitude, grinning. He chuckled then rested his arms on the counter, my face above his, looking down at him.

"Kiss me."

"Demanding," I raised my eyebrows. "But no," I shrugged.

"Why?"

I shrugged once more.

"Jay, you're asking for it," he grunted and swung me once again over his shoulder. I started hitting his back lightly pleading for a few seconds as he walked, but I stopped, knowing he wouldn't give in again. He grabbed my back that was beside his head, and he flipped me on the bed making me yelp, and bulge my eyes out. He crawled on top of me, lying down, exerting pain on my body.

"Cal! You're so heavy! Get off!" I tried pushing him off, but he just lay there, his head resting on my chest. "Cal!" I tried again, huffing, but no luck whatsoever.

"No," he mumbled. "Goodnight babe," he said, turning his head, looking directly at me, with puckered lips. I sighed and decided to peck him, but as soon as I made contact, he grabbed my face, pulling me closer, and lifting himself off. Thank god. I didn't know how much longer I could go with him lying down on my fragile body.

His kiss lasted longer that I had wanted, but I couldn't help but to kiss him back. I loved the way our lips perfectly fit together, and how they interlocked with each other. I loved how he would always run his fingers through the sides of my head, through my hair, making me giggle, which then led to him pressing smiles on my lips.

I could live in this moment forever.
