JAYCEE'S P.O.V
Overall, summer was going by so slowly. The days dragged along, as I just sat at home talking for hours to Calum on the phone as I watched over my brothers for the whole day. I haven't really been interacting with them as much this summer. But the days were starting to get boring, as Bri was in summer school everyday until the second week of July; I guess about two weeks wouldn't hurt if I had it to myself. But it was still only late June, and I had all of July and August to have the time of my life, as next summer would involve getting settled in with the process of university. I'm not looking forward to senior year, yet I also am, because people always say it's supposed to be the best year of high school. I curled on the couch, staring at the television screen of racing cars, and my two brothers with their headsets in and talking to their friends through the microphones. I asked myself if they'd miss me after I would go away. I don't know if I've been so present in their lives, but now I'm starting to wish I was.
I jumped off the couch, walked over to the television, and hit the power button, only to be followed by shouting and yelling. "Would you calm down?" I laughed at their reactions, and stood in shock; they ewre so addicted to video games.
"Jay, put it back on!" Jett yelled.
"No, I'm not going to put it back on. You two are gonna be blind by the end of the summer," I started walking towards to window, that made the room dim because of the blinds across it, "you're going to be blind and you need a little something that I like to call, sunshine," I drew the curtains that shone the sun directly on them and they squinted and looked away. "You vampires," I groaned.
"Get your butts off the ground, and change because we are going to go to the park and play soccer, okay?"
They both looked at me with questionable faces. "What are you waiting for? Go! If you come down in five mintues looking alright, I'll take you for ice cream," I smiled slightly, and that sure got the job done. As they ran upstairs, I got my phone out and texted Calum asking if he'd meet us at the park. He dominates soccer, and it'd be nice to see him hang around Jett and Josh. If three people in this family liked Calum, I definitely had to get 'approval' as it would overtake the two parents.
They rushed down the stairs, tripping slightly, making me laugh, and we all got our shoes on. I grabbed my wallet and keys, and headed out the door, to lock up, and we started walking over. It was silence until I asked them,
"So how was your school year guys?"
I got a mumble of 'good's' in reply. "Wow, okay thanks for the passionate answer!" I say in an excited yet sarcastic tone.
"What's up with you Jay?" Josh asked.
I sighed. "Well, I'm going off next year, and being your older sister, I really haven't been so sisterly to you, and I just want to use this time to bond with you. I feel like I barely even know you two, and you're my family and that is insane!" I look down at them, they looking up at me.
We continued walking and they said nothing in reply. "Sorry, I just-"
I immediately felt a tug on my sweater to look down and see a glisten-eyed Jett who wrapped his small arms around my waist. "Aww, Jett," I bent down to hug him.
"I know we aren't close as sisters and brothers, but we can make this the best summer ever!" He said jumping around, and looking more cheery. I laughed as Josh stood there; but I could see his grin. We arrived at the park soon enough, and I saw Calum with a soccer jersey and shorts.
"I hope you're not going to go all coach style on them, because they really do suck at soccer," I grin, walking over to Calum as he drops his clipboard on the grass, and he uses his arms to pull me into his body by the waist.
