BRI'S P.O.V
My eyelashes fluttered open to the sunshine peaking in of my curtains. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, and peeled off the duvet from my sticky and sweaty body, making me frown. My feet immediately were dragged towards the bathroom, in order of me smelling fresh throughout the day. I let the hot water cascade against my skin and my slight curves, releasing me into a relaxing sensation, as I was disrupted by my older brother banging loudly on the door. I sighed and turned the water off, wrapped myself in a towel, and ran out of the bathroom to my room, closing it and falling back onto my bed. With the towel still covering me, I picked out some denim shorts and a floral shirt. I ran down the stairs and grabbed some yogurt and a banana, ate it quickly and threw it out in the garbage.
Nothing was on my schedule for the day, so I texted Jaycee and told her I would be at her place soon. Hopefully she didn't mind me being at her place, in less than two minutes.
Soon enough, I knocked on her door and waited for her to open it up. But her little brother Jett opened it up, and I smiled down at him and bent my knees, lowering myself to his height. "Hey kiddo!" I used my knuckles to rub his head, messing up his hair slightly, as he cringed with a cute smile.
"Hi Bri!" He smiled widely.
"Where's your sister? Is she upstairs?" He nodded.
"She's still sleeping though," he giggled. I laughed and nodded, standing up and removing my shoes.
"Not for long," I ran up the stairs and stopped in the middle. "You coming?" I beamed a smile at Jett and he came running with me. "On three," I whispered. I counted down and we barged inside Jay's room, and ran to her bed, and jumped on her. She started screaming and rolling around frantically, making me and Jett fall onto the bed, on top of her legs.
"What the hell you two?" She yelled, her hair tousled and messy. I whipped my phone and snapped a quick picture, laughing my head off. "Jett, get out. You too Bri," she grinned. I dropped my jaw. She chuckled. "Just teasing."
She got out of bed and went to the washroom, as I lay down on my back scrolling through some social media, my heart stopped as I saw a picture of him on the screen, and I sighed, pouting. Just then, Jay walked back into the room with a confused look.
"What's wrong?" She took a seat beside me.
"Just. Just look at him. He's all things perfect!" I squealed, burying my face into her pillows. She wasn't saying anything, so I sat back and collected myself. "What?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"I've met him before," she said. I need to know details.
"What? Why? When? Where? How?" I spat out all at once.
"It was at Cal's house. I went over and he had a few of his friends there and he was there. It was just a few days ago. He seemed pretty sweet the other day," she shrugged.
Sweet?
"Did you say anything about me?"
"No Bri. I didn't know it was him you liked. Sorry. If I had known-"
She was interrupted by my phone ringing loudly. I answered it saying,
"Hello?"
"Sabrina. Where are you?" Great. My mother was on the other side of the phone.
"At Jay's. Why?"
"You had classes today!" She shouted slightly. Dammit; I forgot that summer school started today. I know it's only been about a week after school, but I needed it to be sooner, just so the remainder of my summer was available to laze around.
"Im sorry. I'll be there soon then. Bye," I hung up and sighed. "I forgot I had classes today. I need to make up English class. I'll call you after I'm done. Bye girl," I hugged Jay and ran down the stairs and out the door. I ran back to my house to grab my books and bag, and I took the car to school and parked terribly and darted into the school.
I had no idea where classes were, so I went to the office and asked. "Excuse me?" I said politely to the receptionist. "Where is English class?" I asked.
"Room 326." I nodded and ran up the stairs, latching onto the railings, piercing my skin with its cool metallic touch.
"Sorry sir," I mumble, walking past him as I entered the classroom. I took a seat in the fourth of the five rows and I centred myself in the classroom.
Whipping my book and pencils from my bag, I felt a light tap on my shoulder and I turned around. Thank goodness I chose this spot to sit at.
His hazel-green eyes charmed me once again, as I fell deeper into them. His dirty blonde curls made my heart rise to my throat, finding it hard to swallow. My chest started to ache and I looked at him longingly.
"Hi there," he whispered, smiling cheekily. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
"Hi," I mumbled, biting my lower lip slightly. He eyed me up and down, and then asked,
"Can i borrow a pen?" I nodded and handed it over to him. I was a sucker for him; the slightest things he does, even if it's not with intention, has a hold on me. I must be the most cliché person but I don't really care at this point.
I handed him over a pen and he snagged it from my hand. My palm still open, I turned away but he grabbed my hand and I felt a tickle. I turned my head to him, and saw him writing down scribbles on my hand.
"Call me," he winked and set his eyes back down on his papers, making my stomach flutter. I nodded and turned, facing the board, jotting down the notes in my notebook.
As well as doodling his name on the empty page.
