Danny said he was going to help Jessica and that is exactly what he did. He made Jessica's parents aware of what was going on, he found the best of the best therapist and helped out as much as Jessica allowed him to.
One night Jessica had a horrible panic attack and didn't want anyone near her but Danny.
Albert and Dorothy looked after the kids and let Danny deal with Jessica. He's learned how to handle Jessica's little episodes. Where Dorothy would just panic right along with her, and Albert would get mad because he didn't understand her unhappiness, Danny would sit with her through the sobs and hyperventilating. He knew how to comfort her, when to leave her and when to step in. He's been her rock through this whole mess.
Jessica sobbed and sobbed in her bedroom. Danny sat there letting her get out whatever she needed to get out.
As he sat there he could tell Jessica wasn't going to calm down any time soon, so he moved closer to her and took her hands in his. He made direct eye contact with her and in a soothing voice he said, "Breathe. Look at me.. breathe.. there is nothing to be afraid of, Jessie. There's nothing to be upset over. You have a great life. You have amazing sisters and a great brother. Terrific parents and the best kids in the world.. and you have me." Danny smiles softly. "I love you, baby. There are so many people that love you all over the world.. I'm so lucky I get to call you mine."
Jessica looked at Danny and threw herself into his arms.
Danny buried his nose in the crook of her neck. He closed her eyes and took in her scent.
"I don't want you to leave me! Please don't leave me!" Jessica bawled.
"Jessica, I won't!"
"Promise?"
"I promise you, honey."
"I love you."
"I love you so much more."
Jessica struggles to catch her breath, so once again, Danny pulls away, takes her hands and looks deep into her eyes.
"Breathe with me." Danny inhales deeply, then blows it out.
They repeat this a few times before Jessica slowly calms down.
"You okay?" He asks.
Jessica sighs and nods her head. "Yeah.." She spoke in a breathless voice.
"Thank you for helping me.." Jessica spoke in a low and child like voice.
"No need to thank me. I love you, honey. There is no other place I'd rather be than here."
Jessica managed to show him the smallest smile.
"There it is! I see my girl's smile!" Danny says poking Jessica's stomach.
"Stop." Jessica giggles, moving his hand away.
Danny takes a moment to just look at her and take in all her beauty.
Jessica then takes his arms and guides him to lay down. She then turns to the side and wraps his arm around her small body.
