After Danny and Jessica's conversation, it was quite awkward. The car ride home was absolutely silent.
"Jessica." Danny decided to speak first.
"I didn't mean to ruin our anniversary."
"Danny, you didn't ruin it. I just.. I can't marry you."
"That's fine. But Jess?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you know that I love you?"
"Of course."
"Do you know that I'd never hurt you?"
"Yes."
"Do you know how much I love the kids?"
"Yes, Danny."
"Okay good. That's all I needed to know. I don't want you to ever forget that."
"I know all of that, Danny. I'm the one with the problem. Not you."
Danny just sighed. He decided to just let her be. There would be no winning with her tonight.

Christmas.
The awkwardness has passed, and now Danny and Jessica are perfectly fine.
"Do you need help with anything, mommy?" Addelyn skips into the room.
"Yes please! Will you sit in front of your sister and distract her while I try to get this bow in her hair?"
"Sure!" Addelyn chuckles.
"Lessie! Look at me, pretty girl!"
"Ahhhh!" Alessia screams with laughter.
"Why are you being a little wiggle worm for mommy?"
"Mama!" Alessia looks up and points to Jessica.
"Yeah that's her!" Addelyn chuckles.
"Ma dada!" She holds her hands up and shakes her head.
"Dada is downstairs."
"Dada!" She fusses.
"If you be still I'll take you to your dada, okay? Just be still, love."
Alessia giggles and points to her sister.
"You're silly today!"
Alessia saints her eyes and gives her sister a funny smile making her laugh.
"What is she doing?" Jessica asks.
"Being super silly!"
"Crazy girl!" Jessica smiles.
"There! All done! Man, you are a squirmy wormy today little miss!"
"Mama!" She laughs.

"Everyone just arrived. We haven't even eaten yet, and you have kicked off your shoes and ripped your tights!" Jessica says to Alessia who was running around barefoot and bare legged.
Alessia looks down as her little feet.
