It had been a long day. Sitting and staring blankly at my computer screen which had went into sleep mode because I wasn't using it.

The asshole didn't talk to me much, just asked a few questions and went on with his job.

Fowler had told me that the android stayed here but I was more than welcome to bring him home with me. I thought about it. I wasn't sure. Even though androids were upgraded and checked for safety shit, I was still uneasy about them. But I decided to try it.

"Come on, dipshit, let's go," I say, grabbing my keys and tucking my phone into my back pocket. There were only a few people there, mostly officers filing reports and doing paperwork.

"Where are we going exactly?" He asks, slipping on his coat and turning off his monitor.

"My house... Fowler said it would be best if I took you home instead of leaving you here."

"Why?"

"Why do you ask so many goddamn questions?" I respond with a peeved facial expression.

"I apologize, Detective," he says and I go to respond but he cuts me off, "that you are clearly upset from a past experience with androids. But I encourage you to be more polite or I will have to show you some manners. Easy way or hard way, Reed, your choice."

"Fuck off, asshole," I provoke and immediately regret it once he steps up to me, his hands slightly raised.

My heart beats fast as a memory flashes before my eyes and a button is pushed in my body that sends anxiety and fear. I'm suddenly turning away and running out towards my car.

I try to keep up my mask but it's so difficult. I can't help but be rude. My walls have always been up since Danny.

Danny.

I can't believe my fucking mind. I haven't said or even thought his name in years. Every time I did, I would harm myself someway. It was like a sin for me to think it. Gosh, I'm so sorry.

I grasp the steering wheel tightly, the keys not even in the ignition. I squeeze the material of it until my fingers start to go numb.

A light knock on my window just makes me tense even more and I take in a deep breath, turning my head.

"Detective, your stress levels are extremely high and I think you should step out of the car and let me drive."

"Get in, Conan! I just want to go home," I yell, looking away from him.

He complies and is opening the passenger door after a few seconds. He puts on his seatbelt though there's no use since he doesn't really need one. He's a fucking Android. He'd be fine.

I put on my own seatbelt and start the car, pulling out of the parking lot with a quick turn.

There's silence. Uncomfortable silence.

"Are you okay?" He asks, looking over towards me.

"No," I respond, relieved that I didn't lie out of habit.

Humans were difficult because they pushed you until you wanted to kill them. Androids stopped when you wanted them to. Androids were much easier to talk to considering they weren't worried every fucking second you start to seem upset. I've never talked to an Android, nor a human about my feelings except Tina and that was rare. I thought I'd give Conan a try. After all, he is my partner and we'd be spending a lot of time together.
