Chase looked in the mirror with apprehension; it was the first day of school.
He put on his favorite T-shirt and left for school. Chase was briskly strolling down the sidewalk when he heard fast, heavy thumping.
"Watch out!!!" A voice called as a bicycle bell rang.
With a horrendous crash that could be heard for miles, Chase collided and flew into the grass.
"Owww," Chase groaned as he pushed whatever was on top of him away from him.
Chase managed to slowly stand up, and saw a girl. She looked about five foot three and was wearing square glasses.
"Hey, watch it!" barked Chase.
"Well, I did give you a warning!" claimed the girl. "I rung the bell!"
"How is that a warning when you hit someone with your bike?!" exclaimed Chase.
"A warning is a warning." replied the girl."Besides with your height, you can't hear anything, you idiot."
The mysterious girl proceeded to pick up her books that had fallen on the floor. Chase bent down to help her.
"I don't need your help." said the girl.
"Well, too bad, because I want to help you." Chase replied.
"I don't date dinguses so go find yourself a different girl," She retorted.
"Hey! I am not a dingus," he cried.
"Well. You look like one!" She countered.
"That doesn't even make sense!" Chase tried weakly, but the girl jogged away.
Defeated, he still gathered up some textbooks when he saw an open sketch book lying there. He pick up the book and proceeded to take a look. On the first page, he saw an magnificent picture of a wolf.
"Hey! Don't open that!" shrieked the girl, as she once again slapped him.
"Owww! What was that for???" asked Chase.
"Those are some personal drawings in there...some I don't trust idiots with like you," promptly said the girl.
"From what I can tell, there are some spectacular drawings." declared Chase.
"Shut up, loser." half-heartedly retorted the girl turning away.
In the far off distance, a bell tolled quietly.
"Is that what I think that is? Then that means...!"
"RUUUUN!" shouted Chase as he grabbed the girl's hand and ran.
"Let go of me, you ingrate!" The girl said as she struggled free.
Chase looked at the girl, but then ran into a light post. He lay spread-eagle on the floor as the girl laughed at him and ran off. With a sigh, he stood up, and ran to his new school.
He arrived at his classroom, just moments after the bell rang for the first period of the day.
"You are late!" exclaimed Mrs. Emily, his homeroom teacher.
"Sorry, I was held up by something..." replied Chase, as he turned in his tardy slip.
"What may be this something that enables you to be late to the first day of school?" exclaimed Mrs. Emily, hinting the possibility of a detention.
"This girl rammed into me, and I had to help her." answered Chase.
"You had to, you say?" questioned Mrs.Emily, "Very well, since you would like to be a ladies' man and not care about your education, would you be so very kind, and help me file all of the new student transcripts after school? Don't worry, it won't go into official record."
"Ummm..."
"THANK you, Mr. Park." interrupted Mrs. Emily, "See, class, what a helpful student Chase is. I hope that all of you may strive to be like him."
The class nodded their heads up and down. Chase headed back to his seat in the back of the class, next to the only empty seat.
"Great. I was the class example of what happens when you are late. And it is all because of that girl."
Right at that moment, the door to the classroom busted open.
"Sorry I'm late!" a familiar voice cried.
Chase spun around.
"You!" Chase said as he pointed at her. "You were the reason I was late!"
"Now, why might you be late?" asked the teacher.
"Sorry! I rammed into this imbecile right here- sorry - guy, and had to go all the way to the main office for my schedule." the girl replied.
"Why didn't you leave your home earlier then?" Mrs. Emily asked.
"I did not plan to run into that idiot who only stood there and watched me clean up!" replied the girl.
"Hello! You're the one that turned down my offer of help!" interrupted Chase.
"You had perverted intention! You...creep!"
"What do you mean, creep! I am not a creep!"
"Then what are you?!"
"I was trying to be a nice person!"
"Nice person? Then why are you here yelling at me?!"
"It is because you called me a creep!"
"Both of you, clam it!" roared Mrs. Emily. "Both of you, introduce yourselves."
Chase looked at the girl, and she pointed back at him.
"Alright I'll go.." started Chase
"Hi my name is Alicia Kim and I think that Mrs. Emily is an annoying teacher already," said Alicia.
"Excuse me! How dare you disrespect a teacher. I'm glad that both of you know each other. Now, Chase, would you like to explain to Mrs. Kim what you two shall be doing together?" commanded a mortified Mrs. Emily.
"We are doing WHAT?!" shrieked Alicia.
"Don't even start, young lady!" barked Mrs. Emily, "Both of you! To your seats."
Heat began to rise up to Chase's face. He realized that this was happening on the first day of school, and he was right in the middle of it. Being known as the boy who got an after-school detention was enough, but being known as the pervert who only helps girls! No!!!!
He trudged back to his seat, and Alicia followed him.
"Why are you following me?" asked Chase.
"Because the only empty seat is there." Alicia said pointing to the seat directly next to Chase.
"Let me properly introduce myself." started Chase desperate for a conversation that was not awkward, "I'm Chase Park and I love music."
"Nice to meet you, Chase."retorted Alicia. "Now would you be kind and get out of my way."
"Oh." Chase stuttered as he realized he was blocking the aisle.
Chase sat down, as Alicia plopped into the desk next to him.
"Can we agree not to pull something like that off again?" he whispered.
"No promises." Alicia grumbled back, leaving Chase confused about the new girl one desk away.
