The week after Valentine's Day, Mrs. Emily dropped bombshells upon the class.

"The school has made note of who came to the dance as a "couple" even though we strictly informed all of you that you are not allowed to bring a date!" Mrs. Emily started, "The following students will now be receiving a detention!"

Mrs. Emily started rattling off a list of names. The class whipped out their phones, not caring about the consequences. Within a minute, they had made a group chat with the name "A La Revolution".

"They are going to start a riot..."

Before anyone could make a move, Mrs. Emily continued on.

"I hope everyone is aware that in two weeks time we will be going to our yearly seventh grade Pali trip in Running Springs."

She pulled out a list.

"So far we have over three hundred students going. Two months ago an email was sent to your parents, as well as it being mentioned during back to school night a couple of months ago."

"Crap... Did my mom sign me up?"

"Here is the students who have paid and are going."

She jabbled on as Chase listened closely.

"Samantha Paris, Andy Parizzo. Chase Park..."

"YASSS!!! My mother is the best!"

After hearing his name, his mind went on autopilot and he did not pay attention for the rest of class. At lunch, Chase met up with his usual tablemates.

"Did you guys hear about the Pali trip?" Chase asked when everyone got together.

"Yeah. I'm going to go." Alicia said. "Anyone else?"

Everyone, but Reina, Lukas, and Ethan nodded.

"You guys aren't going?" exclaimed Michael with confusion, approaching the table. He saw Ren clutching her silverware and he stopped talking. He turned to run away, but Ren grabbed him by the collar.

"You owe me an apology."

Michael looked at the ceiling, where he counted five plastic knives finding their new home there.

"Ok, I'm sorry." He mumbled.

"For what?" Ren beckoned.

"For being such a jerk to you. You deserve better."

"Apology accepted," a contented Ren said.

Michael jogged away to the safety of his friends.

"Well...that was very random." Chase didn't bother to vocalize the thought.

"I have a tennis tournament that week, so I can't go..." Reina answered with a hint of regret. "Well, at least the tournament will give me free food..."

Everyone nodded. No one can refuse free food.

"My dad told me that it is useless to go to a camp to learn more. He told me to just stay home, and study all his history books." replied Lukas cheerfully.

Everyone winced.

"So why aren't you going, Ethan?" inquired Alicia.

"I have a band retreat in Zion..." muttered Ethan.

"The band retreat in Zion?" exclaimed Chase, "You mean the beginner camp? The students are totally newbies compared to you!"

"I am volunteering there as a teacher's assistant." replied Ethan.
