The week had blown by quickly. Chase worked furiously on his school work. He couldn't possibly wait for his "first date" with Alicia. Saturday finally came along, and Chase met Alicia at her house with Nugget.
"Nugget, c'mon."
Nugget was too busy sniffing Mochi's butt while Mochi did the same.
"Awwww... How cute.." squealed Alicia.
"You sure act different when you are with a dog."
"Hey! Dogs are adorable. Dogs deserve attention!"
Alicia huffed as she spun around.
You look adorable when you get mad like that. Wait what? What the heck did I just say in my head?
"What should we eat?" Alicia asked. " I'm hungry."
"Let's go get boba!" Chase exclaimed.
"Boba? I'm hungry not thirsty."
"Dude have you ever tried popcorn chicken?"
"What's that?"
Chase groaned as the spun around.
"Today, you will get an education on popcorn chicken."
Chase and Alicia walked down the road to the shopping district nearby.
"Huh. It's been a while since I came to the mall."
Alicia and Chase observed the bustling crowd as they walked over to . They stood in line as people ogled over their dogs.
"You think it's fine if we have our dogs?"
"Should be. This is the outdoor part of the mall."
They finally reached the register. Alicia ordered first."I'll get Hawaiian fruit tea with boba."
"Then I will get a a honey milk tea and a mild popcorn chicken." said Chase as he pulled out his wallet.
"Huh?"
"I'm paying."
Chase grabbed their food as they sat down on one of the tables outside. Their dogs frolicked about.
"Should we worry about them?"
"I think we will be fine. The leashes are tied to the chairs."
Chase opened up the bag as a whiff of spices filled the air.
"Wow that looks amazing!" gasped Alicia as Chase pulled out the popcorn chicken.
"It tastes amazing too."
Chase poke one of the pieces and put in front of Alicia's mouth.
"Try it."
For some strange reason, Alicia hesitated, but promptly ate the piece. She chewed for a moment, and bliss spread over her face.
"This is AMAZING!"
Chase doubled over from Alicia's reaction.
"Boba and popcorn chicken. The invincible pair."
Chase speared a piece and put it in his own mouth.
Soon a unspoken competition arose between Chase and Alicia. Who could put more pieces of popcorn chicken on their stick.
That makes number five. What is Alicia on?
To his dismay Chase found Alicia stacking her eleventh piece on the stick, completely filling the stick.
"I win."
"What...How..."
Alicia's moment of triumph was doused when the stick broke under the weight of the chicken.
