A week after Chase went to Alicia's house, it was, finally, the last day till Thanksgiving Break. Chase remembered that today he was supposed to come over to Alicia's house again, thanks to the constant stares from Alicia. At the end of the day, Chase and Alicia immediately started to walk to Alicia's house. When they were rounding the block to her house, they ran into a lanky, muscular boy, about the same age as Chase and Alicia, perhaps her neighbor.
"Hey, Alicia." He said with a crooked smile.
"Oh, um, h-hi Michael." speaked Alicia, clearly anxious.
Michael then saw Chase next to him. He stuck out his hand.
"Michael Deming. Nice to meet you."
Chase shook his hand. Something about this new guy unsettled him. Michael was the first person he had ever seen to make Alicia felt flustered. After an uncomfortable walk, They finally arrived at Alicia's house.
Mrs. Kim greeted them. "Hello!"
They greeted her back, and Mr. Kim came to the door and put on his coat.
"Mrs. Kim and I will be running some errands, so we won't be back until dinner. Watch Ashley, okay?" Mr. Kim said.
When they left, it was just Chase, Alicia, and Ashley. Ashley came downstairs and saw them.
"I leave you two alone." Ashley said with a wink.
Alicia mouthed something to Ashley. Chase didn't see it, but Ashley quickly ran to her room.
Chase still wondered about Michael.
"That Michael kid. Does he go to our school?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, dummy! He was paired up with your group of idiots in literature a week ago." Alicia answered.
"Is he a good kid?"
"Good kid?" Alicia scoffed. "He's 4.0 student, captain of the basketball team, and class president. They don't refer to him as "The Demigod" for nothing."Alicia said with a look of... admiration? Chase could see that she was swooning over Michael.
"Is he... your boyfriend?" Chase asked.
"What? No!" Alicia replied, snapping out of her lovestruck state.
"Oh, you wish he was," he ventured.
"You'll regret that, you jerk." She growled.
She slapped him so hard, he flew into the couch, where he lost consciousness.
When he opened his eyes, Alicia was gone, and Ashley was staring down at him.
"Where did Alicia go?" asked Chase.
"She said she needed to go outside for a breather," replied Ashley. "Whatcha do to my sister this time?"
"N-nothing!" exclaimed Chase, as ran outside.
Chase saw Alicia sitting on the porch, and sat down next to her. Alicia turned around, flushed face.
"You really had to push that button did you?" asked Alicia.
"What button?" asked an oblivious Chase.
"The fact that I have a crush on Michael." answered Alicia.
"Oh. I didn't think you would actually have a crush on someone."
"CRASHHH!"
"OKAYIMSORRYYOUARENOTAHEARTLESSPERSONYOUHAVETHEBIGGESTHEART!"
"Biggest WHAT?"
"HEART!"
"Good, seem like you learned your lesson. Now, let's get to practice.
