Chase and Eliana sat down in one of middle rows of the bus, Chase taking the window seat. In front of them, Ren and Alicia were chattering about. Behind them, Chia was trying to snuggle up to a oblivious Michael.
"This is already pretty weird... It has been a while since I talked with Eliana one on one."
"How has your been so far?" questioned Eliana.
"Good, I guess." answered Chase, "How about you?"
"I guess a lot has changed since sixth grade." Eliana answered, "It's no longer the three musketeers of third grade."
Chase grinned, all those years ago it had been him, Ethan, and Eliana. Now, her friend circle has expanded so much.
"Maybe she won't try to pry information from me."
As soon as he thought crossed his mind, Eliana immediately went into interrogation mode.
"How are you and Alicia going?" Eliana asked.
"With what?"
"You know..."
"Seriously. What?"
Eliana made a gesture with her hands.
"Ewwww!!! What is wrong with you!!!" exclaimed Chase.
"Nothing... Didn't know you were that dirty minded... Thought you were more pure..." chided Eliana.
"Then what does that make you? An Ultra-Perv?" Chase reconsidered for a moment, "If I call her an Ultra- Perv there is no telling what Alicia will do to me..."
"Now that you know what am I talking about, how are you doing with her?" interrogated Eliana.
"We are just friends, nothing more or nothing less.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah."
Eliana paused for a moment. Chase thought she was done asking, but she turned back to him.
"Then why do you look at her so much during class?"
"I look at her during class?"
"Yah. Constantly!"
"Does that mean that you are constantly staring at me?"
"Uhhhh..."
Eliana turned around as her attempt to interrogate Chase failed.
"So who do you like?" Eliana tried once more, "I promise not to tell anyone."
"No one."
"Seriously?"
"Not even Alicia?"
"I already told you that I don't like her"
"Not even as a friend?"
"Of course, I like her a friend."
"You sure?"
"Yah..."
"You don't like her a little more than a friend??? Like a crush?"
Chase waited for a moment.
"I..."
"What's with the hesitation, huh? Ever given it a thought?"
"...Yeah..."
"Why do I have a feeling Alicia and Ren are eavesdropping..."
"I guess I can have a crush on her, but that could never happen." answered Chase
"Oh!!! So you liiiike her?" Eliana said as she twirled her hair around her finger.
