The bus bumbled along the long, bumpy path to Wickham Jr. High's entrance. There waiting were the parents, some eagerly waiting to see their children, others disappointed that their time without their child was over... Some students in the bus started pounding on the glass when they saw their family.
"Stay in your seats!" barked the teachers, but of course, nobody listened.
The bus parked and the students burst out to get their bags, eager to go home. Chase saw his mom and gave her a big hug.
"Don't break my back, Chase!" Mrs. Park chuckled.
Chase grabbed his bags and got ready to go home. As he walked over to his mom, she stopped him.
"Let me talk to the office. Something about the camp payment." Mrs. Park said. "Wait here with your friends, okay?"
Chase nodded. He went to find his group of friends, reuniting with their cell phones.
Losers I just left mine at home.
"I've missed you so much!" Michael said, smooching his phone.
"Well, what should we do?" Alicia asked as she pocketed her phone.
"Not much. We have school tomorrow." Chase said.
His friends looked at him as if he had grown a third eye. Chase quickly patted his forehead, just to be sure he hadn't.
"Um, today's Friday." Michael said, looking at his phone. "March 22. Spring break is coming soon!"
"Wait, already?" Chase said. "My birthday is in...11 days!"
Alicia raised her hand. "Well, mine's in 12."
"Good to know!" Michael said, putting a reminder on his phone. "When you two get married, have the wedding before your birthdays. A three-day celebration!"
Immediately, Alicia nabbed Ren's water bottle she was drinking from.
"Hey!" Ren gargled, spraying water onto everyone.
As everyone wiped off the water in disgust, Alicia clenched the half-full bottle and beaned Michael upside the head with it.
"Owww!" Michael exclaimed, rubbing his head.
"Alicia if you were going to hurt him, you should have just told me.." complained Ren as she whipped out plastic knives from thin air.
WHERE DOES SHE GET THOSE THINGS FROM!
Before Alicia and Ren could have done more damage, but Mrs. Park came out of the school's doors, and the chaos grinded to a halt.
"Okay, Chase, let's go!" Mrs. Park said cheerfully.
Chase packed his bags into the trunk and his mom drove him home.
Chase grinded through school, and his annoying friends, waiting for his birthday to come. Lukas, Ethan, and Reina couldn't believe what they missed. They stopped at nothing to squeeze the details from Chase. Chase sighed as he woke up in his birthday.
"Five more minutes..."
Soon enough, Chase dozed off back to sleep. A couple of hours later, his dad woke him up.
"Wake up, birthday boy!" Mr. Park said. "I made you breakfast in bed!" Mr. Park held up a plate of chocolate chip pancakes and bacon.
"Thanks, dad you can put it over there..." Chase said tiredly, "Wait! FOOD!"
He inhaled his food and prepared for the big day ahead. Then, he had to do what he hated most: waiting for the party. He paced around the house, playing games on his phone, but getting bored of it quickly. He stopped as his finger were about to send a message to Alicia out of boredom.
