The whole school buzzed as they found out that Alise was an "actual" couple.
"I feel like I will get jumped." groaned Chase as he walked down the hallway, ignoring the stares of all the jealous students.
"Hey, you were the one who signed up for it." chided Alicia.
"No regrets. No regrets." he muttered as he shuffled along.
They finally reached their destination which was their next class, history.
"Everyone should have turned in their group projects to me this morning! If you did not turn it in now, and the whole group will be docked ten percent." Mr. Keuilian started off as the class filed in.
A quarter of the class groaned as they pulled out their computers.
"Did you turn it in?" whispered Alicia.
"No... Did you?" responded Chase.
"I did!" Ethan answered as he pretended to take a picture of them, "You two are so cute!"
Alicia and Chase gave him a death stare. Their friends already knew why they suddenly decided to go to the dance with each other, and had agreed. Now Ethan and Eliana were going to the dance as well. Michael extended the offer to Ren, but she declined saying that she doesn't want to be near a leach.
Right as Alicia pulled her hand back to chuck a pencil at Ethan, Mr. Keuilian cleared his throat.
"So now that everyone has turned it in, I am forced to give this lecture to you guys because the school told me to."
"I am pretty sure that all of you know that the Valentine's Day dance is coming up, correct?" Mr. Keuilian continued, "Apparently a student was harassed by another student over this issue, and as a result, students are no longer allowed to take anyone to the dance!"
"What?! This is insane!" a student called out.
"Yah!" agreed another.
The room buzzed with noise until an unexpected student put an end to it.
"Chill out!" exclaimed Ren from her back seat, "It's not like most of you have dates to take!"
The room quieted down as an air of embarrassment and depression settled upon the class.
"Now that is settled, everyone take out paper and pencil, we are taking notes on Prohibition." Mr. Keuilian directed.
"Wait if there is no more dance, that means..." Chase thought with a hint of regret.
The week went on, but no one seemed fazed about not taking anyone to the dance. In fact, the drama soon took a turn. It was soon February fourteenth, as the school bustled to life about the dance. People still would "ask" each other out, and "go together" to dance.
"I wonder if the school really thought it would make a difference whether students are banned to go to the dance with a date?" Eliana stated, as they sat their usual lunch table.
"Honestly, it seems like a stupid idea." answered Ethan.
"Kids are going to dance with a 'date', whether or not the school bans it." Alicia added.
"I'm pretty sure that more people are going to ask because it is banned, like the thing that we learned in history." pondered Lukas.
"Yah... But at least the drama has died down a bit." sighed Chase with relief. "I no longer have to-"
"By the way, Ren, did you hear?" interrupted Reina.
"Here what?"
"Michael is going out with...someone else to the dance." she answered.
