Chapter 25
“Are you ready?” Ceci asked, as they all stood in the backyard of her grandfather’s house. This way no one will see the portal, and no suspicions will arise.
The five of them stood in a line holding hands, with Ceci being in the middle; Luke and Noah on her right, and Monica and Logan on her left.
“I still don’t understand why we have to hold hands” Luke sighed.
“Hush up” Logan huffed, “Did you not hear Ceci when she said that we could all end up in different places if we don’t hold onto each other?”
Ceci giggled as Luke muttered under his breath, “It’s okay. I just want to make it clear that Luke and Noah will have to think about the same place; the coven. This way we have a clear destination, the rest of us will have to keep our minds completely blank so the portal doesn’t confuse where we need to go”
“No pressure” Logan snickered, poking his tongue out at Luke.
“Just wait till we get there man, I’m going to tackle you!”
“Yeah, yeah. We’ll see, pup” Logan chuckled.
Luke, instantly huffing at the nickname ‘pup’, was about to give his most witty reply when a portal slowly opened in front of them. It began as just one glimmering spot of a water substance, and proceeded to swirl and increase until it looked like a circle of water quickly rushing around and around.
“Close your eyes” Ceci demanded, everyone immediately did as she said. Luke and Noah thought of the coven, and the memories they shared there, while everyone kept their minds blank.
Ceci began walking everyone forward as the sound of rushing water grew louder, and heavy winds kicked at their faces. These were the many things that came with a portal; winds picking up, the sound of rushing water accelerating, and clouds begin to form with the crackling of thunder and the soft drizzle of rain.
Once the portal disappears, everything snaps began to its natural form, as though the portal was never there.
Just as they stepped into the portal, they all pulled each other tighter, forcing themselves to never let go. Soon enough they were being sucked into the portal. Their bodies clashed together, and the force was almost as though they were being knocked around by heavy waves. Logan’s stomach growled, and maybe this was their mistake when he realised they haven’t ate in a few hours.
Just before they were forced out the other end of the portal, to their destination, the force of the portal grew stronger until they were all ripped apart; gurgles of shock being their only reaction.
Then it was all over.
Before they could all register what was happening, they were falling into a kitchen from the ceiling. Logan landed on the stove which was thankfully not turned on, and then had Monica land on top of him, their chests smashing together as they groaned out in pain. Luke landed on the kitchen table and Noah landed on the floor face first. Ceci, however, was nowhere to be seen.
