Japan would never be ready for what waited for him on the other side of that door. But that wouldn't keep him from opening it. Or the others.

Hungary, Prussia, Germany, Italy, and Japan walked down the pathway, gravel of different shades of black and grey crunching under their feet.

"Finally we can escape!" Prussia beamed, keeping Hungary near her. Hungary smiled, her emerald eyes bright in excitement. "I can't wait to see Gilveta again! I hope she's doing alright." Prussia kissed the top of Hungary's forehead gently. "Me too..."

"Yeah..... I can't wait either...." Italy said in such a soft voice it sounded like a whisper.

"I'm going ahead. You guys are too slow." Germany smiled a little.

Repeat.

"Oh, Germa-" Japan called out, but he was already half- way down the hallway.

There's no time left. I can't call out to him, nor physically stop him myself. I'm sure our enemy is stronger too..... Wait a minute- it's not just the enemy that get's stronger every-time I see a memory.

"AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!"

Italy was the first to run, amber eye wide with horror. "G-Germany!" He shrieked, terrified.

Prussia exchanged glances. "Take Hungary." Hungary clenched her fists. "No Prussia! I'm going to fight" is what she would have said if Japan hadn't already pulled her away from him.

Prussia sprinted after Italy, right on his tail. Germany's cerulean eyes were wide with horror. He made no effort to move, and a long, thick vine was pulling his ankle down.

"time to play, my little toys!" A girly, childish voice giggled, the sound echoing off the cement walls. "only for a little bit!"

Japan clenched his fists. Maybe what Prussia was to trying to say, was that we all need to work together, that we all have our strengths and weaknesses, but combined, we have no faults.

"Hungary! Let's go!" He full out ran towards Prussia and the others, and Hungary didn't even flinch- she just ran along side him.

Hungary's strength was more controlled.

Japan could do more than sense the mood.

Germany could torture his enemies better than anyone.

Italy was more than capable of just healing.

Prussia could do more than support his own weight.

They could all fight, like a team.

"There it is!" Japan exclaimed as the grinning Oni came stomping down the hallway. It's gnarly, slimy fangs were sticking out in all directions, a Cheshire cat's smile put to shame. Flames of bright red and cool blue were burning from all parts of it's grey, pale fleshy skin. The charred rope ladder was in it's fangs, wet from the saliva it secreted.

"I-Italy! Bruder! JUST RUN, PLEASE!" Germany begged of his friends, pleading as bitter tears rushed down his cheeks.

"Dammit West! We're not leaving you behind!" Prussia scolded, his voice rising with anger for every word.

"Hai!" Japan agreed. "Family sticks together!" Hungary exclaimed, preparing her sword for battle. "JAPAN! I TOLD YOU TO TAKE HUNGARY AWAY FROM HERE!" Prussia screamed, livid.

"Let's just get out of here!" Italy choked, sobbing.

Hungary and Japan were a few feet away from Prussia, Italy, and Germany, which was a disadvantage for them.
