The room was quiet. "I agree." Prussia broke the silence.

"Right now, our top priority is getting everyone out of here alive. Grab everything that could be of evidence or help us escape. Understood?" Prussia declared.

Everyone nodded. "Japan, you said you had a lot of explaining to do." Japan nodded.

"We definitely have to explain a lot aru." China agreed. "Why don't we split up into two groups?" Canada suggested.

"Hai. Their injuries aren't that severe, either. I'll keep looking around the basement." Japan decided.

"Then I'll go with Japan!" America cheered with a grin.

"Weren't you listening? We have to explain to you what's going on. You have to stay aru!" China retorted angrily.

"Aw, come on! Japan can explain it to me, can't you Japan?" America chimed like a little kid, dragging Japan into his problems once again.

"It had to be the slowest to understand..." Japan thought to himself with regret. "Very well. I would be glad to. We'll go look around first. We'll see the rest of you later."

"Give him a good earful for us please." Canada sighed roughly, and England nodded in agreement. "I'll go with them. Not only will I be giving a scolding, but there's something that's been bothering me, and I definitely have to check out my suspicions now." England said as he walked into Japan's group.

"Er, but-" Japan was about to disagree before England caught on. "It's something that needs to be investigated. Unless you don't want to know why your mother was summoned out of no where?" England shot back harshly, and Japan succumbed into the threat.

"Very well. You may come along." Japan sighed. "We'll be back in 15 minutes."

As Japan and his party made their leave, Italy grabbed the Asian country's arm, and he came to a halt. "Japan...."

Japan turned to face the Italian, and he smiled weakly. "......Be back soon okay?" Japan gave him a small smile of hope. "Promise."

And they left.

The trio walked down the hallway, going straight down the right pathway. Japan ordered the two to search the room, and they followed the instructions. England favored the bookshelves in the left corner, and America searched the floor.

"There's something about this room that's bothering me...." England muttered to himself. "Guess I'll just check it later."

"Good idea." Japan agreed, and without having anything but a deep pit of bad feelings, they continued on. The moment they left the room, the scenery changed immediately. Concrete walls with a rough texture, and gravely floors with weeds and small rocks scattered dangerously around the walkway downwards.

"What the bloody hell...." England stopped at the doorway. "This definitely means something!" America exclaimed, pushing Japan and England out of the way as he started down the rocky hallway. Japan followed, breaking into a speedy run, with England trailing behind.

They halted as they rounded the corner, with a sight that made Japan want to hug England, America cry, and England jump.

A ladder. A way out.

"A r-rope ladder..." Japan was so chocked, his words wouldn't come out.

"We've done it! Let's get out of this bloody massacre!" England cheered loudly, pumping his fists into the air as he hollered.

"It's about damn time!" America whooped, jumping up and down like an excited little kid.

"Thank God! Let's call the others here as soon as possible!" Japan smiled, and he had to rub his eyes just a bit to keep the tears back. Well, wuldn't you cry if you were stuck in a mansion with a derived monster 3 times your size?
