They all watched as Italy sprinted down the hallway, not looking back.
Germany's eyes were stinging with tears, his heart breaking with every step that Italy took. America was silent, tears streaming down his cheeks with a salty bitterness. Japan's fists were clenched, squeezing the cloth of his dirty and bloody stained pants.
England was the first to speak up. "America... This isn't your fault. You know we won't blame you..." It was a soft whisper, but the faint words brought a feeling of pain to the American's heart.
"No... It is. It's all my fault. I should've never suggested this place! I should have never let Italy come with us! And now... A fucking alien is about to take everyone I love away from me! Don't you dare say it's not my damn fault because goddammit, it fucking is!" America screamed, his sobs chocking his words.
Everyone was silent. They didn't know how to respond. Prussia gritted his teeth, slamming his fists on the cement wall. "Dammit! Why?! Why does that witch Ryuu always hit us right when everything is insanity?!"
"Amazing, isn't it? Mistress Ryuu sure knows how to wreak havoc." Canadra spoke, hovering near the cell gate doors. "But that sounds like a personal problem. How unfortunate for you, you poor souls." Canadra's laugh was dead and one beat.
Germany's cerulean eyes were full of guilt and grief. "You little Teufel! How dare you say that about Italy!" Germany was angry now, and he almost jumped at the steel bars, even if they were unbreakable.
"How pitiful! What a disgusting little brat aru!" China spat, frowning upon the ghost girl. Canadra narrowed her eyes at the Asian nation. "Say all you want! You're not going to get any nearer to getting out of there."
Hungary was about to say something before Prussia grabbed her wrist. He shook his head. The albino knew what would happen if they continued to anger her. For all they knew, she could be worse than Ryuu. As the other nations began putting in their own inputs, only a few stayed silent. Curses and insults flung between the nations and the lone ghost girl like daggers to the heart.
Between the screams and shouts, a small whisper was heard at the back.
"Canadra."
All heads turned towards America.
"Please help us. Italy's in the dark and he needs us. Not just Germany or Japan or the Axis, but all of us, as a whole. Please, Canadra, we want to get you out too." America's voice was gentle and soft.
Canadra almost cried. Her jet black-violet eyes widened at the offer. The young girl almost yelled out Papa! You're back! But she knew thay was impossible. "Papa" was dead.
Her lips came up in a snarl, showing her canines as she let her mouth think for her brain. "Tsk! No, that's not my problem! Why must you idiots drag me into your own petty war?! Fight your own battles for once!"
Silence. England clenched his jaw. "How dare you say that about the man that has been saving your arse since the beginning! Who saved you from your 'Mistress'? Me! Who protected you from the Oni? America! And who keeps on pushing you through this bloody hell? America! He's be-"
America put a hand on England's shoulder, and his jaw shut closed immediately.
"Haha, sorry about that. Mr.Gentleman doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut."
"But Ameri-"
"She's right you know. It's not cool for the hero to bring in innocent people that have no part in this." America gave Canadra his greatest grin yet. "I just wanted to save my friends, and that includes you too!"
