Dante finds himself pacing inside a large glass cell, with only a metal chair keeping him company.
He was relocated from the Secret Service medical infirmary to the university where Professor Rebecca Chambers' lab was located, and the cute professor was having a conversation with a worried Leon and Sherry.
Dante sighed in frustration as he slumped down against the chair, legs on either side of the furniture and his hands hugged the back of the chair.
"Mind telling me what's going on here?" Dante commented as he grew bored, this was not what he expected when the he got the news that he was infected.
That's when Dante realised it was weird. It it had been inside his body, why hasn't it infect him? Even weirder, why is it showing its effects only now?
Dante perked up when he heard footsteps approaching him, and Rebecca tapped on the glass cell.
"You okey in there?" "Asking how I'm feeling after getting the news that I'm infected from a bite that occurred two years ago. Not really subtle, don't you think?"
Classic Dante to comment something snark while being held like a test subject in a glass cell.
"Becca is just asking if you're feeling weird or anything." Leon said as he looked at Dante worriedly, how had he not notice the wound before?
"Peachy. It's kinda hot in here though. I'm taking off my hoodie." Dante did that and draped his hoodie over his chair, before resuming his previous position of hugging the furniture.
"I'll have to take some blood samples to see what kind of virus are you exposed to. I'll need some time to create a vaccine, if it's possible."
Rebecca said as she held up her syringe that made Leon hoped he would never get a flu shot from the tiny professor.
Dante grunted softly as Rebecca took his blood sample, and also ran a few scans and test on him.
The half-demon listened to every word the professor ordered, even allowing Rebecca to feed him some apple slices when he was hungry.
"I like this side of Dante." Rebecca commented as Dante now was chewing on the juicy apple slices, taking a break from the professor's research.
"Don't get used to it." Leon smiled with a hint of amusement as he watched Dante finish the last slice of apple, before giving the blonde agent a flying kiss, which Leon quickly caught it in mid air and pressed his palm to his own lips.
"From what I can see from the results, it seems the virus had actually laid dormant in Dante's body. His demon blood had helped repress the virus for two years until it somehow awaken again last night."
Rebecca said as she peered from the records she had jotted down on a clipboard, before moving to her computer.
"Don't move, Dante. We're doing a full-body scan on you right now." Dante nodded as he laid down on the bed that Rebecca had supplied a while later as a scanner ran through his body.
"See this little green balls? Those are the virus that is now in Dante's body. But look at how it's just flowing through the blood stream, going with the flow."
Leon and Sherry bend down to see the screen that displayed the virus that flowed within the blood stream, not even reacting. It was like the virus was asleep while flowing throughout Dante's body.
"And yet, the virus looked like this when he was admitted to the infirmary last night." Rebecca clicked a folder and a short video of how the virus in Dante's body was spasming uncontrollably, it's tendrils flaring wildly.
"So you're saying that, someone must have triggered the virus inside Dante's body. It's like the A-virus all over again."
"Except this virus doesn't have a trigger virus. Whatever it is, something or someone might have managed to triggered the virus only last night. So, why does this virus suddenly awakened after two years in the body?"
Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows as Leon flipped through the files, intent on curing whatever virus that was stuck in Dante's body.
"Err, guys." "Yes, Sherry?" Both Rebecca and Leon looked up when they heard Sherry's voice trembled.
"Didn't you say that the university was closed for the weekend?" "Yeah. One of the buildings needed to do some reconstruction so the school is off-limits to professors only. Why?"
"So I'm guessing those aren't students at all." Leon pointed out at the screen where a group of people came flooding into the main entrance of the university, banging on the door and groaning. One of them stared up at the CCTV, and his glowing red eyes sent huge red flags over the trio.
"Oh crap." Was all Rebecca could say when she heard glass breaking and footsteps storming into the university as the building went into lockdown.
