"Tell me one good reason I shouldn't kill you right now." Dante growled as he held Rebellion just below Ashley's chin, while Ashley dropped the shotgun in her hand.

"Because I have this." Ashley coughed as she shakily produced a vial containing a glowing blue liquid before handing it towards Dante.

"Over the years, the virus within you mutated to adjust to your demon bloodstream. Wesker... used your brother's blood to take control of the virus within you, turning you into his puppet, just like how Vergil is now."

An explosion was heard in the distance and a tremor ran through the hallway, making both Dante and Ashley stumbled before getting back to their feet.

Dante tensed when Ashley tried to take something out her pack, but held his own when Ashley produced a first aid spray and bandages her bleeding side.

"What happened here?" Dante said as he pulled Rebellion back, spending time with Leon and the others had made him grow soft as he helped Ashley to balance herself.

"Thanks." Ashley said as she gripped at Dante's arm for support.

"Professor Alexa who was tasked with managing Project Necromancer, Wesker's new pet project betrayed the team. She had tampered with the vaccine that was meant to kept Wesker's virus that is in him in balance. With the virus going haywire, Wesker went berserk like a wild beast."

Ashley gestured at the destroyed hallway, coughing slightly.

"Take this." Ashley shoved the shotgun at Dante, who realised that the bullets were somehow glowing light blue like the vial that was given to him by Ashley.

"These bullets are the only thing that can stop those good from regenerating. And that vial from earlier, let's just say Vergil is full of surprises."

Ashley smiled softly before pushing Dante away from her, producing another shotgun from behind her.

"Let's go. The exit's that way." Ashley held her weapon firmly and Dante followed her, sprinting through exploding hallways and living blobs of goo.

Refilling the special ammo into Ebony and Ivory instead, Dante covered Ashley from an incoming goo, which had taken shape into human forms before rushing towards them in superhuman speed.

With one firm aim to the heads, Ashley took out three goo zombies at once, gritting her teeth as her wound that was bandaged was bleeding again.

"Where is this?" Dante asked as he and Ashley ducked into a dark hallway, closing the door behind them that led to multiple infected.

"The underground exit. Yes, it leads to the sewers. Not my first option for a dramatic exit, but it can save us a lot of trouble."

Dante snorted at that, lighting up his Ophion to lit the dark hallway. From a distance, rushing water could be heard and the foul stench made the half-demon wrinkled his nose in disgust.

Something splashing into the water could be heard and both Dante and Ashley were on the alert, sword and shotgun ready to attack and fire.

With his enhanced hearing, Dante quickly turned to the right and swung Rebellion in that direction, cutting off the head that belonged to an infected that had tried to ambushed them from the water.

"Nice. After you, gentlemen." Ashley offered for Dante to walk forward while she lagged behind. "Such a lady you are."

Ashley merely offered a small grin before they walked with only their footsteps and the water filled the place.

More infected came out of the water and attacked them, but despite the two had only just met, Ashley and Dante found themselves almost flawlessly as the two covered each other while taking out infected.

A mini boss that resembled a blob of flesh mashed together to become one disgusting pile of a monster appeared when Dante and Ashley has no choice but to walk through the water.

Ashley's ammo was limited after using it on the first few waves of zombies, so the assassin acted as backup for Dante by distracting the monster while Dante went for the offence.

Sticking Rebellion through the head, Dante held onto the sword firmly while Ashley took aim using her few special bullets.

"Anytime now, Ashley!" Dante said as he was slipping, but Ashley stayed true to her aim and fired, making the monster's head blow up in a shower of blood.

"Making it rain blood? Now that's a first." Dante gestured as he leaped off the monster's head, which collapsed and sank to the bottom of the smelly liquid.

"Shall we?" Dante gestured towards the still far end of the sewers, and Ashley had a hand on her wound, swallowing the since that tried to escaped her before trying to catch up with the half-demon.

Reaching the end of the smelly and dreaded sewers, Dante was the first to climb up the ladder that lead to a metal cover of the sewage.

Shooting it with Ebony, Dante pushes opened the cover and found himself in the back alley of some shop lots.

"Aren't you coming up?" Dante asked as Ashley stood there, clutching on her shotgun tight as she was looking at the direction that they had came from.

"I.... I have something else to do. Just get to the streets. BSAA units will come find you and lead you home."

Dante was surprised. For someone who almost risked her life to kidnap him before, why was she helping him escape?

"Don't thank me, Dante. As I said before, Vergil is full of surprises. Go back to your agent, I bet he misses you."

Dante blinked at that, and Ashley's grin was the last thing he saw before the metal cover closed with a gunshot.
