Ashley slowly raised her hands up in the air, cautious enough not to make sudden movements to provoke the four people who had their guns trained solely on her back.
The spy could only hear the sound of crackling as the connection was still out, and Ashley knew she needed to buy some time before she executed Plan B.
"State yourself." Leon said as he gripped his gun tight. Anyone who dares touch his boyfriend answers through him, and the agent was having a bad mood today.
"And why would I do that?" Ashley said as she turned around slowly under Jake's orders, a cocky grin plastered to her face.
"Ada?" Leon whispered under his breath as his eyes roamed over Ashley's figure, making Dante growl in jealousy.
"Best not to make your boyfriend mad, Agent Kennedy." Ashley drawled with a smug tone, and Leon snapped out of it.
"How did you know?" Ashley asked after a tense silence, her smug facade falling and replaced by a cold expression.
"Holmes alerted us the moment you entered the air vents. And he was discreet enough to lead you right where he wanted you to be."
Jake said with a proud grin to his face.
"I'm flattered, vice-captain Muller." "You deserve it anyway." Holmes chuckled before he provided information about Ashley towards Leon's phone.
The blonde agent narrowed his eyes as he read the info about Ashley, before lifting his head up to look at Ashley.
"You're working for Wesker, aren't you?" Ashley blinked at that, mocking a face that stated she doesn't know what Leon was talking about.
"You must be mistaken. I merely came here to get him." At that, the lights flashed before everything went dark.
"Holmes! What's going on.... Arrgh!" Jake was cut off mid-sentence by a punch to his jaw, making him retreat to the wall and holding his cheek.
Chris was taken by a surprise as long legs wrapped around his neck, before he was pulled down with his head knocking the floor with a sickening thud.
Leon managed to block the incoming fist that was targeted to his abdomen, but he couldn't dodge the roundhouse kick that sent him flying.
Dante yelled as he slashed through the air with Rebellion, following Ashley's movements based on her footsteps.
"Not a lot of time left, Silver Crow. Holmes has already called a group of BSAA troops to the area. Execute Plan B instantly." "Took you long enough."
Ada's voice rang into her comm, and Ashley utilised her skills of fighting in the dark to the test and struggle to get to Dante without missing part of her body.
"He's too strong. I need a distraction." With that, the lights started flashing on and off, making Dante hesitant as he blinked out the sudden brightness that filled his eyes.
Using this opening, Ashley managed to dislodge Dante's sword out of his hand before pulling out a syringe from her pocket that contained a transparent liquid before jabbing it into Dante's neck.
Dante howled as he grabbed the syringe, crushing it under his bare hands before he managed to grab Ashley's leg and flung her across the room.
Ashley groaned as she collided with the wall, and Dante was quick to grab her by the neck, growling at her as his eyes flashed with tendrils of red among white.
"What did you do to me?" Dante spat out, while Ashley winced as her air supply was slowly cut off.
With a weak chuckle, Ashley said smugly.
"Consider this a gift from your beloved brother." Dante widened his eyes as his body spasms out of control, and Dante let go of Ashley as he cried out in pain, thrashing on the floor.
"Don't touch him!" Leon yelled through gritted teeth as Dante's yells made him wince, before everything went quiet as Dante laid lifelessly on the floor.
"You son of a bitch!" Chris regained consciousness before he and Jake charged towards Ashley, who clutched her throat and stared at them with wide eyes.
Before any of them react, Chris and Dante were thrown across the room, smashing into the wall and created a hole.
Leon watched in horror as Dante stood up, his eyes cold and face devoid of emotion as he pulled his extended hand back, the red from before now devouring the entirety of his eyes.
"Well done, dear brother." A blue portal formed right beside Dante as Chris yelled at the new intruder.
"It's you!" Chris called out from his place in the wreckage, but he couldn't move much as he felt pain travel up his spine, caused by the harsh impact on the wall.
Using the distraction, Ashley slipped back into the vents she had gone through before and managed to escape the facility with Ada waiting at the rendezvous point just like they planned.
"Ah, we meet again captain. Don't you worry, Faith and lieutenant Nivans are in safe hands."
Vergil said with a smirk to his face as Chris growled, but he couldn't do anything without igniting the red hot pain in his spine whenever he tried to move.
"As for Dante over here. I'm bringing him from our family reunion. Wouldn't want to miss the fun, right?"
Vergil grinned as he turned towards Dante, who nodded mechanically before stepping into the portal, followed by Vergil himself as Leon's cries were drowned out as the portal closed behind the Nephilim.
