(22) A Reunion Between Friends (Part 1)

Leon woke up much earlier than he had expected, considering both he and Dante had been all over each other all night long after the half-demon unexpectedly appeared behind him while Leon had been mourning for his disappearance.

Leon sat up from his spot slowly, blinking and smiling when his hand was intertwined with Dante's, who was snoring beside him with his face buried in the pillow.

Kissing Dante's cheek, Leon let go of of Dante's hold over his own hand, before randomly picking up the clothes that had been strewn on the floor, and it was pure coincidence that Leon had taken Dante's hoodie with a pair of pants.

As the hoodie was slightly bigger for Leon, the end of the hoodie was practically draped over the floor, and Leon had to rolled up the sleeves so that his hands could be used to perform his usual morning routine.

Cleaning off the dishes from last night, Leon was staring out the window of his apartment, wrapping Dante's hoodie around himself and snuggling into it, feeling the calming scent of Dante wrapped around him.

His phone started ringing where it was left on the table, and Leon quickly picked it up as to not wake Dante up.

"Leon, are you alright? Hunnigan's worried since you didn't show up for work yesterday." Helena's worried tone sounded through the line, and Leon was glad that he had a friend to count on at times like these.

"Yeah, just tired. Mind coming over after this? Something came up. " On the other line, Helena nodded before starting to get ready. Over the years she had spend with Leon, both of them have reached an understanding between each other that simple words like these held a hidden meaning behind them. And judging by Leon's tone, Helena suspect something had happened.

"I'll be there in ten. See ya." "See you too." Leon said before he hung up, and tensed slightly when a pair of strong arms had wrapped around his waist, pulling him back into a broad chest.

Pressing a kiss on Leon's neck, Dante hummed out a morning greeting, and Leon offered the coffee in hand, which Dante declined with a shake of his head.

"Come back to bed." Dante whined out with a pout, draping his upper body onto Leon while his fingers fiddled with the end of Leon's sleeves, seeing how cute Leon's sweater paws were on his hand as they held hands together, making Leon sighed out in contentment at having his boyfriend back.

The doorbell rang twice, and Leon and Dante separated from each other, looking at each other in the eye before Dante to answer the door, earning a gasp from the person knocking.

"Dante?!!" Helena exclaimed with a gasp before she was suddenly dragged into the apartment, with Dante closing the door quickly while Leon was glad to see the brunette agent.

"What's going on? And how did you come back?" Helena said as she deposited the bag of breakfast on the table, looking at Dante as if she still doesn't believe it's really the half-demon in front of her.

"Let's just say, the super-spy who kidnapped me before had a change of heart and brought me out the facility I was held in. She wouldn't say why though." Dante deliberately left out the part where Ashley has mentioned that this was Vergil's doing, not wanting to alarm the others.

"That's strange.... Have you checked yourself for any tracking devices? Or a microchip implanted in your body?" Helena said as she knew Leon had been implanted one at the back of his neck before the late President Graham issued its removal, seeing as Leon was being treated like an animal rather than a human being.

"As far as I know, I don't think I have been inserted any of that. They put me in a water tank so that I couldn't escape without being sedated first."

Dante cleared his throat after a while, remembering his time when they had to call Vergil over to restrain him, and the red in his brother's eyes sent an uneasy feeling through Dante.

"That's good to hear. But it wouldn't hurt to check." Leon said as be went over to Dante, placing a reassuring kiss on Dante's cheek, knowing Dante must have gone through something as his hands were shuddering slightly.

Leon's hand found Dante's, and the half-demon buried his head into the agent's head, grateful for the small gesture Leon offered.

Seeing the two getting cosy with each other, Helena went to the kitchen with a small smile, giving the two some privacy.

Her phone vibrated in her pockets, and she quickly assured Hunnigan that Leon was fine and was going back to work this afternoon.

That answer seemed to satisfy the women, who thanked Helena for checking the blonde agent's condition, while Helena merely thought of it as a friendly gesture on her part after years of being friends with Leon.

"So.. not to break up the moment. But do you want to get checked up or not? Uber arrived in five minutes." Due to them being still sleepy, Leon and Dante hadn't realise that Helena has drove here herself and were scrambling to get dressed, while Helena had to stifle a snort from escaping her mouth at how adorable the couple looked.

"Come on. Let's go." After a ten minutes shower together (Dante insisted since it saves water and time... kinda) and getting dressed, Leon and Dante followed Helena to the car, still oblivious as to why Helena was laughing the whole way down before making their way to the BSAA facility where Dante had been kept earlier.
