(11) The Infiltration

Ashley was driving a small common car as Ada sat on the front seat, looking though the information she had just obtained from Vergil.

They were on their way to a new location that Dante was last seen to be transferred to after the viral outbreak at the university, courtesy of Vergil.

"I can't believe we're working together like old times." Ashley said as she swerved to the right, where the building they were required to infiltrate into was within their sights.

"Indeed. Remember the time that we had to go in to our instructor's room to steal his underwear as a first assignment?" Ashley snorted at that before parking the car somewhere near the building.

Arming themselves with the right equipment, Ashley stepped out of the car first, looking around the place in case anyone else was present.

Nodding at Ada, Ashley took out her own grappling hook that was white in colour and disappeared from view.

"This is Red Hawk. Come in, Silver Crow." Ada used her old code name that was given to them when they were just training to become the spy they are today.

Ada grinned when she heard a snort from the other side of her comm, before Ashley replied with the wind sailing in the background.

"Loud and clear, Red Hawk. Lead me at it." Ada sent Ashley the location where she could get access into the building using one of the sewage drains, and Ashley groaned at the horrible smell.

"I did volunteer for the infiltration work." "Bah, and miss all the action?" Ashley pauses as Ada heard a splash of water from her ear comms, and the silent shuffling of Ashley moving down the drain filled her ears as Ashley focused on finding her way into the building.

"Turn left on the next turn." Ashley followed Ada's direction, and stopped as she spotted an air vent above her head.

"You sure that's not releasing poisonous gas?" "I doubt it. Besides, you have your mask right?"

Ada heard the sound of shuffling and Ashley groaned as she lifted herself into the vents, using magnetic gloves to climb up and entered the building through the air vents connected throughout the building.

"Motion sensor, third floor level air vents." Ashley held her breath as a male mechanical voice spoke throughout the vents.

Ashley tensed as a small black device dropped into the vents, and it started rolling towards Ashley slowly.

Ashley quickly retreated from where she came, and dropped down the vent after finding an opening and closed the metal gate as the camera rolled harmlessly through the vent.

Scanning the dimly lit hallways that were filled with cameras that was so small that a normal person would have just walked through the hallways without even thinking that a camera was following their every move.

Ashley pressed the inner part of her suit, and the brunette could hear the furious typing from the other side. Ada was trying her best to hack into the rumoured artificial intelligence that guarded this place like a fortress.

As she waited for her suit to work its magic, Ashley took note of the layout of the building. The spy frowned as she would have gone straight to the floor where Dante was if it weren't for the damn camera ball.

"Any luck?" Ashley whispered into her comm as she ran along the hallways quickly and quietly, her movements and heat signature were concealed by her suit.

"The firewall's too damn hard to tamper without alerting the main server. Try and find the main generator and shut down the power."

Ashley nodded before sprinting down the hallway, the map already memorised in her mind as she turned left and right, going into all the right directions until she approached a brightly lit room that was labelled 'Generator Room' in big, black words on a white sign.

Using the key card that was acquired from a worker that she had been spying on few days ago, Ashley entered the room and swiftly shut down the power.

"System shutdown. System rebooting in five minutes." Holmes' voice said after a steady hum and Ashley was quick to gain access to Dante's floor.

Climbing into another air vents, Ashley made her way through the dark and small space before finally reaching Dante's room.

Peering through the metal grate, Ashley frowned as she saw no one in the room.

"Are you sure this is the right room?" Ashley asked as she pressed her hand to her comm.

"The virus that is in Dante's body is a tracker virus. And I'm pretty sure that the location of the virus is here."

Ashley nodded before slowly opening the metal grate. As the power had gone out, only a small emergency light lit the large room.

Ashley looked around the room more clearly before jumping down the vent, landing on the floor with a soft thud.

"Wait, Ashley! Don't..!" Before Ada could finish her words, the connection was cut off as the lights came on, revealing Leon, Jake and Chris pointing their guns at Ashley, with Dante holding Ebony and Ivory with a menacing smirk to his face.

"Surprise." Dante drawled as he aimed both guns at the spy who was caught off guard.
