A/N: Hey everyone! Wow, I actually forgot about this book, what with school and work been hogging my attention. Now that I'm free with a three month holiday in store, I'll spend my day and finally finish this disaster of a series! (Shields herself from anyone who starts throwing tomatoes for being gone so long) Enjoy the new chapter!
As they rode in Helena's white sedan, Leon was checking in with Rebecca, booking an appointment with her to check on Dante, and the professor was relieved to find that the half-demon was back.
"Miss you too, Becca." Dante said as he leaned forward from the back seat, talking loud enough for Rebecca to listen.
"Since when were you two on a first-name basis?" Helena asked as she took a right turn, stopping her car just outside the BSAA lab which was now renovated with even tighter security and strong foundation.
"Since we met. Duh~" Dante said as a matter-of-factly, making Helena roll her eyes before she rolled down the windows, showing her ID pass before entering the facility.
Chris and Jake greeted them as they walked into the facility, with Chris saying how glad he was to see Dante back in one piece while Jake snorted, hiding his concern behind sarcasm with Dante playing along.
"Dante, it's so great to see you're back! What happened?" Rebecca exclaimed as soon as the group entered the lab, with Sherry helping Rebecca to set up the bed and machines to run test on the half demon.
"Well, let me tell you the tale of how I survived the blonde maniac known as Wesker the douchebag." Dante's words made Leon snort out a chuckle, while the girls just shook their heads and laughed.
By the time Dante finished narrating his story, the others were left scratching their heads in confusion. Why would a spy like Ashley risk her life to kidnap Dante from them only to help the half-demon get back again? This was what confused Leon the most.
But Leon never got his answers as all of a sudden the wall to the lab exploded and black goo sipped into the place, sticking all over the room and almost everyone.
Chris and Jake immediately took cover and stood before the two women protectively while Dante growled as he pulled Leon behind him, with his gun out while the Nephilim having his Rebellion shining under the lights that slowly went out. "You okey, love?" Dante asked as he turned towards Leon, who glared at him for the nickname and nodded. "Been through better really." Dante snorted at that before looking over the black goo.
"Holmes, what the hell is going on?" Jake called out toward the A.I controlling the building but got no response. Instead, a sinister voice spoke as an ugly head with a large red eye peered at them while chuckling evilly. "Is this my son who had refused to continue my legacy? Should have expected more from you, my child.." Wesker drawled as creatures of every size and shape popped from the mess of goo, roaring and snarling at the group who had all their guns on the ready to shoot.
"Kill them all, my minions. While I continue my plan to share the world of this wonderful power of mine." Wesker cackled as he slid off the edge of the roof.
"Why is it that he always manages to ruin every good moment in my fuckin' life?!" Dante snarled as he brandished his Rebellion and began slicing and dicing the demons like they were nothing. "Go, I'll catch up with you later!" Dante yelled out as he took out his Arbiter and sent it flying through the air, slicing any demons that unluckily crossed the weapons' path.
Chris nodded and began leading the group out the emergency exit and when they managed to escape the building, they were horrified to find New York all up in blazes as black goo seemed to be everywhere, with demons of all kind roaming the streets and tearing up the humans like snacks.
"What the hell just happened?" Chris yelled and Sherry shouted. "Get down!" A flying ambulance came hurling over them before crushing onto the wall above them, and Leon managed to pull Chris out of the way from being smashed by the fallen vehicle.
The cry of a young girl attracted their attention as a familiar figure with white long hair came down the street and slashing at any demon that dared block her way with her sharp spider legs. When her hand extended, electricity sparkled before shooting out at nearby demons, making Chris beamed at their arrival.
"Faith, Piers! Over here!" Chris called out and the two were quick to make their way over towards Chris, with the B.O.W throwing herself over Chris while Piers just settled on Chris's shoulders and pressed his lips to Chris's cheeks with a soft blush on his lips.
"So you two got any idea what the hell happened that just made New York the perfect location for filming the next Goosebumps movies?" Leon asked and before they could continue their story however, a loud shriek pierced the air and Leon's heart stopped to see Dante fly out the window, a sword stabbed through his abdomen with a figure in a black long coat with white hair pushing him down the next building.
"DANTE!!!!!"
