By the time the BSAA troops arrived at the scene, Vergil and Ashley were long gone by than. Ada was able to avoid the BSAA jeeps coming their direction by taking a longer but safer route for them to escape.
Ashley was moving her head from side to side, only stopping when an audible cracking sound was heard. Ada hissed when she heard it.
"Damn half-demons and their strength.." Ashley said as she massages her neck now, which had purple bruises shaped of a hand clearly visible on her pale skin.
"You took quite a beating." Ada said as she tossed the first aid kit to Ashley, who opened it and started patching herself up in the back seat.
"Compared to them, I'm pretty lucky. Bad boy threw both of the BSAA soldiers like they were rag dolls."
Ada heard the sound of engines gaining towards them and swerved to the left, stepping on the exhaust when she realised they got company.
"Of all the times they come.." Ashley muttered under breath before she pressed her phone to her ear, and waited for the line to go through.
"Hey, remember that one time you said I could ask for anything I need help with?" Ada avoided the BSAA jeeps that were hot on their heels, and the assassin tried to lose them by going off road.
"Thanks, sweetie." Ashley ended the call and Ada saw the grin on her partner's face. Ada was about to open her mouth to comment on something when the BSAA soldiers started shooting at their tires, and Ada swerved just in time to prevent the tire of her car to explode in a flurry of rubber.
Ashley put on a mask to conceal her face before leaning out the window, and shot at the tires of the jeeps to prevent them from chasing after them anymore.
At one point, Ashley's mask was blown away by the wind after one of the bullets grazed her cheek and broke the string that pulled at her mask.
Ada grunted as a spotlight was shone directly at her face before it moved towards the jeep, and Ashley retreated back into the car when the helicopter hovered just in front of the BSAA jeeps before shooting at them.
"Friend of yours?" "More like my partner." Ashley said with a small smile on her lips.
Ada hummed as Ashley saw how the helicopter only took out the jeeps' tires, and was able to prevent from harming any of the soldiers.
After a safe distance out of the city and the BSAA troops, Ada and Ashley stepped out of the car and lit the car on fire, destroying any evidence that they were here or even using the vehicle before.
A man with short chestnut hair hopped down from the helicopter, his ear piercings shone under the fire.
"Thanks for the help, babe." Ashley kissed the man's cheek, warning a laugh from him.
"Anytime, Ash. And you must be Ms. Wong." "I don't think we met before."
The man merely chuckled as Ada shook his outstretched hand. "Ashley talked about you sometimes. Wayne Henderson, at your service."
Wayne did a mock bow with all the fancy hand gestures, before inviting Ashley and Ada into the chopper.
"Will I expect to see you soon?" Wayne said after they were flying smoothly in the air, while Ada sat with her back facing the couple, her hands intent on her phone.
"Hopefully. I've recently taken up a huge assignment." Ashley gestured at Ada, and Wayne nodded in understanding as he flew them swiftly and quietly to their destination.
