Sherry's shallow breaths filled the empty lab that she was in as she cocked her gun, refilling new rounds of bullets into her Triple Shot.
Dante was currently hiding behind the wall, looking out from time to time while checking on Sherry.
"You okey, blondie ?" "I've been through worse. Let's just hope Leon and Professor Rebecca's okey."
Sherry said as she ducked under the table, with Dante following suit when they heard an inhumane growl coming from outside the room.
Dante pressed his hand on Sherry's mouth when the blonde wanted to talk, keeping his mouth shut when a huge shadow loomed over them through the window.
The creature screeched and snarled, walking around outside of the room. Dante and Sherry kept holding their breaths as the two watched the shadows danced around them under the table.
After what seems to be hours, the creature finally relent and moved away from the room, it's footsteps making squelching sounds as it left the area.
"Coast's clear." Sherry gasped for air as Dante removed his hand from her mouth, the blonde than glared at the raven-haired male.
"What? Unlike you, I value my life, okey?" "At least give me a warning." Sherry said as she wiped her lips with the back of her hand, before peering outside from her location.
"Alright, alright." Dante took note of this before he led Sherry out the room, looking around the hall.
"I've got no signal at the moment. Hopefully, Jake got my message to pick me up and get some help after seeing the ruckus outside." Dante raised up a hand to stop Sherry from talking as he peered out the door, before letting the blonde agent out and walked quietly.
"Baldie's here?" "Yeah. He's taking a break off the field after his undercover work in Edonia as a mercenary. Apparently, some of the mercs who weren't infected managed to get their hands on the C-virus and started selling them in the black market to potential buyers."
Dante and Sherry stopped in their tracks when they heard the groans and moans of infected down the hall on their right.
"Not that way." Dante walked down the hall to the left, only to be yanked back by Sherry.
"Who's the one not valuing his life now?" Sherry whispered as she pointed down the hall, where the creature from earlier was looking around the area, its claws were shiny under the emergency lights that barely lifted the hallways.
"Okey, definitely not that way." Dante took a look around his surroundings, while Sherry was peering the side of the walls, weapon at the ready.
"Think you can fit in there?" Dante motioned at an opening of an air vent on the roof.
"Give me a boost." Dante complied as he went into position, than hoisting up Sherry high enough that she could unscrew the bolts of the vents before crawling in.
"I can't just leave you here." "Don't worry about me, blondie. You focused on getting the BSAA here. I've got this." Dante assured Sherry and ushered her to get moving, before quickly ducking into a room when he heard a animalistic growl coming his way.
"Come and get some, you little shits!" Pulling Rebellion out, Dante seized the moment to strike down the many infected littering the hallways, determined to get to Leon and Rebecca.
With Dante to distract the boards of infected, Sherry quickly made her way through the vents, holding her breath whenever she wanted to sneeze to not attract potential infected around the area.
Following the flow of air, Sherry managed to find her way out of the building, and let out a sneeze after inhaling the dust in the vents.
Gripping her Triple Shot tightly, Sherry made her way to the gates, shooting down the lone infected that lingered outside.
Now hiding in the guard's office located beside the gate, Sherry immediately texted Jake, who replied instantly who was bringing a team of BSAA soldiers with him.

Dante yelled as he slammed the Arbiter Axe down on the last infected, which was a big and fat B.O.W with enough strength that it stepped on Dante and managed to earn a yell of pain from the half-demon.
"Where the hell are they?" Dante grumbled as he held Rebellion in his hands, not taking any chances to clear his weapons away in case an infected jumped him again.
The sound of gunshots made his ears rang as he slowed down from his sprint, and exhaled in relief when he saw Leon shooting down a few infected with Rebecca holding a fire extinguisher, bashing any infected that got too near.
With a grin, Dante took out his Aquila, and with one clean throw, all the infected that surrounded Leon and Rebecca were relieved of their heads.
"Miss me, Kennedy?" Dante grinned as he caught Aquila in mid-air, catching the blonde agent who buried himself into Dante's chest.
"Damn right I do." Leon mumbled at Dante's neck, his hot breath tickling the half-demon's neck.
"Not to break up the moment, but we should get going." Rebecca bit her lips in a apologetic manner, and Leon immediately pulled back from Dante with a slight blush, while the raven-haired male had the audacity to smirk.
"Let's get out of here." Dante led the two through the building, slicing and killing any infected them got in the way and barricaded the door by twisting the metal handles together to prevent the infected inside from escaping.
As if on cue, the screeching of tires were heard and three jeeps with the BSAA logo arrived at the scene.
"Sorry, we're late. Traffic was bad tonight, not to mention half my team were feeling a bit jet lagged for being in the air for the last six hours."
Jake said as he stepped out of the first jeep, motioning his team to head into the building to clear any infected that were still alive.
"No worries. Can't say we came out in one peace though." Leon gestured at Dante, who groaned when trying to stretch his back.
"I'm fine, babe. Just a sore back." A crack of bones was enough to send Dante wincing when he stretched the wrong way.
"Scratch that. Can someone get a masseuse here?" "I need a medic here!"
Jake called out and a female medic was quick to look over Dante's back.
"So, should I address you as lieutenant or captain?" Leon asked as he gestured at Jake's team, the redhead rubbed the back of his head in a bashful manner.
"Not exactly. Redfield's on a classified mission somewhere on the outskirts of New York. I was called in to replace him until he comes back."
"Jake!" Jake stumbled a little as Sherry practically jumped into his arms, hugging his boyfriend with a large grin on her face.
"Hey, Sher." Jake said as he kissed Sherry's cheek with affection, and Leon looked at the two like how a father would look at his daughter all grown up.
"Captain." Jake looked up when a soldier of him addressed him.
"Got something?" "Yes. A message just came. All BSAA units are required to gathered at HQ as quick as possible."
Jake perked up at that. Usually a call like that would mean that a massive bio-attack had happened and all troops were needed to contain it.
"Another bio-attack?" "No. HQ clarified it had something to do with captain Redfield and the two under his care."
Leon picked up bits of the conversation between Jake and the soldier, and widened his eyes when Chris was involved in his conversation.
He only knew from Hunnigan and Claire that Chris had made himself scarce at the moment was because he was under orders to care for the two B.OWs, Project F.A.I.T.H and infected lieutenant Nivans and get them away from civilisation.
"Something happened with Redfield?" "Yes. A team was dispatched to captain Redfield's area just this morning. It seems they were attacked."
