(9) Safety First

After the attack at the university, the BSAA deemed that the university was too dangerous for Rebecca to continue her test with Dante.

In order for both of them to remain in safety and could also get access to the latest technology on medical care, Jake decided to move both of them to a BSAA HQ where all the previous virus and parasites were stored for further researches.

Due to the building housing many dangerous biohazard and viral weaponry, it was built like a fortress and came with modern technology that Rebecca could have easy access to for medical and research alike.

"These are the key cards you need to gain access into the building." Jake said as he gave Rebecca and Leon a white card with the BSAA logo on one side and on the other the symbol of biohazard to indicate that the card was used for this building only.

"Security cameras and motion sensor operates 24/7, and the security clearance are one of the most sophisticated we have ever seen."

Jake indicated as he inserted his own key card and entered the building, leading Rebecca, Leon and Sherry.

"Welcome, Vice-captain Muller." A British male voice spoke as Jake entered the hallway.

"Good to see you too, Holmes." Jake greeted back as the door closed behind them, and the dimly lit hallways were immediately brighten.

"Holmes?" Leon questioned as he looked around, not seeing anyone other than the ones who were with him.

"Holmes is an A.I created by the BSAA's CTO, Stark Henderson. He's the one who has been operating this entire facility after it was built. Holmes, status report on our newest guest."

"Mr. Sparda has been arranged into a quarantine room fifteen minutes ago. Would you like to see him?"

"Lead the way, homey." "Right this way." A door opened just to the left of Sherry and they entered into another long hallway, when they came across a floor-to-ceiling glass wall that showed off the great view outside.

"This is nice." Rebecca commented as she stared out at the huge garden, with different colours of flower breeds scattered across the area to make a wonderful scenery.

"Yeah, it is. We should get going by the way." Jake cleared his throat at Rebecca, who smiled sheepishly before following him into the elevator.

As they reached one of the main floors, Jake and the others arrived in a series of long hallways with multiple doors on each side.

"Mr. Sparda is being held at room 103." "Thanks, Holmes." "Assisting you has been a pleasure."

The A.I sounded sincere before going quiet. Jake placed his eyes over an eye scanner before the door unlocked with a beep.

"Took you guys long enough." Dante quipped as he sat on a chair, holding a book in hand while wearing a pair of glasses.

"To think I've seen it all during my mercenary days. But seeing the great Dante Sparda wearing glasses and reading a book is a whole new thing."

Dante rolled his eyes at Jake, who snickered at him despite wearing those glasses made Dante more attractive. Well, according to Leon's heart rate that threatens to jump out of his throat as Dante turned to look at him with said glasses.

"How are you feeling?" Rebecca asked through the plastic sheet that separated Dante from them.

"I'm feeling like myself, if that's what you mean." Dante winked at the end, pressing his hand on the plastic sheet when Leon put his own to assure the blonde agent.

"Lieutenant Muller, Captain Redfield of the BSAA is asking permission to enter the room."

"Chris?" Leon and Rebecca said at the same time as the door opened to reveal Chris, with Nadia and D.C standing behind him.

"Jar-head, I heard you were attacked." Jake said with a tinge of worry as he approached his captain, who sighed as he looked at his bandaged arm and his broken nose.

"I'll live. There's something I need to speak to with Dante." Chris' voice took a turn as he held up a tablet and turned it towards Dante.

"This was the security footage that was taken when the house was intruded. We managed to salvage it among the debris. We thought you might wanna see it."

Chris places the tablet on a machine, and Holmes activated the machine as it delivered the device to Dante after decontaminating it.

Dante pressed play and Leon and the others watched the footage from Nadia's tablet.

The video clip showed how the intruder came in after the explosion, and was trying to bargain with Chris before a fight broke out.

Al of them winced as they heard a crack of bones when the intruder knocked Chris out in one hard punch.

Chris turned his head away at that, and Leon offered a hand on Chris' shoulder, which the BSAA captain appreciated.

But the words that the intruder spoke made Dante froze up as he rewind the footage, turning up the volume as he listened to it again.

"I suppose you knew him?" Jake asked after seeing Dante's reaction. The half-demon swallowed before he spoke in a hoarse voice.

"He's... He's Vergil Sparda. My twin brother who gone rogue."
