"Well," Leo started scratching the back of his head. "I didn't have the best childhood. In fact it was pretty horrible." Leo laughed and looked down at his folded hands in his lap.

"I guess it all started when my mom... died." Leo began slowly. The rest of the seven watched intently but didn't say anything. They promised that they would listen and do nothing else.

Hazel felt her stomach drop and she felt sick. Telling by the uneasy faces of the rest of her friends she could tell that they weren't feeling good at all.

Who's idea was this again. To talk about their lives before camp. "Terrible one really." Hazel mused in her head. She looked at Leo to see his eyes burning a hole into the carpet. Perhaps tying to sort out his thoughts. They decided to just do two people. Maybe this would be the last or maybe everyone in the seven would go. It wasn't decided yet.

They were just in the moment.

So of course everyone voted for the two happiest people in their friend group. Percy and Leo. Everyone figured that it would be light.
'Mom didn't let me keep a cat when I was five.' 'I got grounded once.'
Small little secrets that people could get a laugh on.

He had barely started and the atmosphere already seemed dark and heavy.
Percy shifted in his chair and kept his face emotionless. That worried everyone in the room to an extent.

"I blamed myself for that a lot. Sometimes I still do..." Leo said and Percy nodded as thought he could sympathize. But no one knew. Why were they doing this again?

Leo traced a scar on his forearm that everyone had assumed was from monster but it may not be. "I got this one from the fifth house I tried to escape from." A shudder ripped through his body and horror flashed before his eyes. "They wanted to be prepared if I ever ran."

The words 'They almost got me' were left unspoken but it hung heavily in the air.

"There was one really crazy house," Leo shook his head as though it was a find memory, "They locked me in the shead and threatened to cut off my hand with shears if I didn't comply." A cold emotionless laugh forced its way from between his lips.

Frank stumbled back, sick that anyone would ever do that to a child. Or to anyone.

"There are other things... so many other things that I just don't want to dig up. It would be to painful." Leo's eyes were dark but he didn't looks at anyone.

He stood up from the chair that he was sitting on and dusted off his jacket. A grin stretched to wide in his elf like face. His eyes still dark. "Next."

A bark of laughter interrupted everyone's thoughts. It was bitter and cold and so closely related to Leo's. They turned to Percy who now occupied the seat Leo had sat in not a moment earlier.

"Before things get to dark I want to tell you one of my happiest memories." A shark like grin settled on his face and the tense atmosphere seemed to press onto them, making it hard to breath.

"It was the moment that I found out my mom killed my first stepdad." Annabeth's eyes grew wide with horror and Piper gripped Jason's arm.

Hazel couldn't stop the shiver that ran up her spine but she stealed herself. No one would blame her anyways if she held onto Frank's hand.

"He was someone that I had wanted dead for as long as I can remember. He was nice the first time I met him. After that it was a living nightmare.

"Things only got worse when he started hitting me." The moment that sentence came out of Percy's mouth a sob ripped its way from Annabeth's body.

Percy felt the need to go and comfort her but his body wouldn't move over there.
Leo's eyes bore deep within his own and somehow he understood that Leo understood. That didn't make him feel better in the least.

"I'm not going to go into detail about this and that but the closet became a perfect hiding spot when he was drunk."

"Drinking." Piper thought bitterly. "It always has to be drinking." She hated how the world worked sometimes.

"But you guys don't have to worry your little heads." The words came out cruel and harsh, "He went in the least painful way possible for someone like him."

Percy looked out the window for what seemed like forever before looking back at the people who were on the room.

"Not that this hasn't been fun but I have somewhere to be." The Leo and Percy stood up and walked calmly out off the room.

Annabeth had a hand over her mouth in order to quiet her sobs while everyone stared in shock and horror at the two boys who left the room.

I honestly don't know where I was going with this.

I wanted pain
