Leo's hair sparked and he grtitted his teeth. He was trying to make a way for demigods to use phones and technology without monsters coming from far and wide.

So far it wasn't working they way he hoped. The design was clunky, it made to much noise, and you could use it for a short amount of time before it would heat up. Not to mention that it was to big for anyone to put it up to their ear.

Leo threw his work down on the table and watched it shatter. How weak.

Fire licked at his fingers the moment that he ran his hands in his hair. Obviously meaning that his hair was on fire.

He didn't bother putting it out. It wasn't as if it was hurting anybody around him. He was alone at the moment.

He walked over to a mirror that Piper had installed in the bunker. Yes, she was different then all her other siblings but she can't change certain tendencies that she was born to have.

He stared at the fire flickering wildly on top of him. Like a freestyle dance that had no beat or rhythm to it. A dance no one could get. A dance that didn't repeat or start over.

Leo lifted his hand and a small fire came to life in the middle of his palm. He watched it grow slightly before dying and become small once again.
Like an idea that you thought would work only to realize that it wouldn't.

He felt like that.

Fire had killed his mom. It was traumatic in every way possible.

He should hate the fire that took everything away from him... and yet he can't find himself doing that.

Fire was warmth and something people all over the world rely on. It had failed using but it has also saved him more times that he could possibly count.

It was a connection. Not only to the forges that his mother had worked in for so long and he had found himself there to. But a connection to his father.

Sure there was resentment, but what demigod child didn't resent their godly parent even just a little bit.

Fire was Leo. It was in his veins- his blood. It was a part of Leo and it always had been. There was nothing he could do about it and there was nothing that he wanted to do without it.

"Fire is strong." Leo thought. "I am fire. Fire does not give up."

Leo turned around to his work bench and suddenly his mind told him what to do. With a fiery grin on his face he set off to work.

Because Leo Valdez was fire itself. And there was no way he was going to be extinguished.
