Chapter 26: Skater

Percy carefully dodged the pedestrians that didn't get out of his way as he used his skateboard to cruise down the sidewalk. He had left camp for a few days and he got and IM earlier saying that Annabeth and the rest of the seven were going to meet him in the park.

His flannel shirt flapped in the wind and he threw he dum dum pop in the trash as he passed. Riding into the park he looked around and couldn't see them.
"Meet us in the park, they said. You'll see us right away, they said." Percy mocked slightly under his breath and saw some stairs up ahead. He kicked the front of his board up once he got close enough and jumped on the rail to grind before preforming a kick-flip.

Percy decided that since he couldn't see his friends he would just look for them in the skating park. "Look for them" and definitely not practice some tricks or whatever.
Percy usually did steer skating but since he was already in the park he decided he would try out vert skating.

There were people with bikes and little kids all over the place. Percy picked a more secluded part where almost no one would watch when he had a total wipeout.

First Percy attempted Caballerial and when he didn't completely fail he did a little victory dance. He had so many scrapes and bruises from trying to that little trick when he was younger.

Deciding that he didn't want to bruise his self any longer and make Annabeth worry when he turned up with scars, he jumped on a railing once more preformed the kick flip and skated away.

"Water boy!" He heard a shout and knew immediately that Leo was behind him.

"Yo."

"Dude is that's skateboard?"

Percy nodded and chewed on his gum.

"Do you mind if I put rockets in it?"

Percy opened his mouth but didn't really trust himself to speak. On one hand he wanted to say no because this skateboard was special to him. On the other hand, rockets.

"...I'm gonna get back to you in that." He finally replied.

"Well come on. We've been waiting for you since forever." Percy felt a bit irked when he heard that because he had been looking for them but didn't say anything.

Instead he gently pushed off from the ground and rode slowly next to Leo who was telling him something. Percy honestly didn't care. It was also confusing since Leo was using all these equations in the middle of his sentences and was starting to sound like Annabeth.

Not that that's bad or something.

He saw a flash of blonde hair at the corner of his eye and knew immediately who is was.

"Leo come on." Leo had to jog after Percy when he started to skate faster in the direction of his friends. Hazel was the first one to spot him and she waved avidly.

"Hey Percy!" She called out and he smiled at her sweetness. The rest of the group turned their heads away from what they were doing to see the new member added to the group.

"Hey Percy, how's your mom?" Frank asked. Percy nodded and gave a thumbs up before making his way over to his girlfriend.

Percy hopped off his skateboard and gave a crooked grin to her before he pecked her cheek. Before wrapping his arm around her waist and piling her close.

It had been sometime since he was in such a close vicinity with his girlfriend. He missed her beyond comprehension.

"So what are we gonna be doing today?" Piper asked excited and bounced around. Jason looked at his girlfriend fondly and Percy couldn't help but wonder if he ever looked like that while watching Annabeth.

"Well there was this beautiful flower garden on the way here..." Hazel started and gripped Frank's hand and started walking in a direction.

The rest of them flowed talking and finally just relaxing like normal teenagers for once in their dangerous lives.

I would explain what I wrote but I honestly don't know. I did this so time ago and I can't remember what the terms mean.
