Percy was around five years old when Sally placed him in violin classes. He acted as though he hated every time he stepped in those classes but they were the second best days of his young life.

Other than when his mom got to stay home the whole day and Smelly Gabe was out of the house. He didn't really ask where he went those days but he wasn't sure he wanted to know.

But perhaps that's another story for another time.

Violin was strangely the only musical instrument that Percy was good at. Piano is as no good and anything that required his mouth on it. No matter what he did hit sounded like a screech.

Singing and caring a tune was even harder to do. His school choir teacher told him he sounded like a dying dolphin when ever he tried.

That put a dent in his self confidence.

Unfortunately he had to quit two years later. S-smelly Gabe said that there wasn't enough money for him to spend it however he wanted. He was- he was very expressive.

Percy doesn't really like talking about it. All you need to know is that he told his mom that he fell down the stairs and that's were the bruises came from.

Sally pressed her lips together in a tight line but said nothing. She often did that when she knew Percy was lying but would give him time to confess.

He never did.

Point is Percy hasn't picked up a violin in so many years. He could have. But strangely enough he was scared.

Scared that his scarred and bruised hands weren't as graceful and gentle as they once were when he plucked those strings ever so delicately.

Scared that his mind was to fight from fear and trauma from his years the violin will seem like a foreign object.

But the moment he saw one sitting lonely in the corner of Piper's music room in her dad's house he rushed straight there to admire it.

Before he even knew what was happening he had picked it up and it rested comfortably underneath his chin.

Piper turned around and caught him doing whatever he was doing. She was about to call out for him to stop, because he was obviously going to make a horrible sound, but then he started playing.

The first note hit the air almost hauntingly. It silenced everything that was happening in the room.
Eyes immediately snapped over to where Percy had closed his eyes and was playing with his heart.

Piper swore that she could almost hear the piano accompanying him. It was absolutely beautiful.

The moment he stopped they all instantly yearned for more. They loved the sound and they way Percy's body gently swayed when he played.

"...whoa..." Leo's voice was breathless and he stared up a Percy in awe.

Percy's face flushed before he gently sat down the violin to its original spot. Everyone was still staring at him which made him uncomfortable.

"Guys...?"

"Where did you learn to play like that?" Jason asked.

"Uh, well I use to take classes and stuff."

"And stuff!" Annabeth yelled excited and amazed.

Percy flushed once more before shifting his foot and sitting down on the piano bench that was close by.

"Bro, you gotta teach me how to do that or something as cool!" Jason exclaimed excited and bumped Percy lightly just to make room for himself in the piano bench. Percy shrugged his shoulder and looked away from his friend and his excited face.

"We could get the Apollo cabin to make you your very own violin and everything. Then you could play for the whole camp." Piper exclaimed. She jumped up from her spot on the floor and shook Percy's shoulders.

"No, that's fine." He laughed nervously before gently taking her hands off his shoulders and looking away.

"You okay?" Annabeth asked looking concerned at her boyfriend.

"Yup." He sighed and rubbed his hands in a nervous manner.

"You know you can talk to us Percy. We're your friends." Hazel said sensing his discomfort.

A grimace shoved its way to his face before he smoothed it out and nodded his head in conformation.

He probably wouldn't talk to them.

Violin was just his way to... escape? It was something that he found relaxing and just enjoyed. Percy felt as though there was no need to show people his talent. It want something that he wanted people to praise him about or add it onto his list of talents.

The demigods exchanged looks.

"Okay then. I should show you guys the cinema room." Piper suggested and for up.

"Uh, could you guys keep this whole violin thing between us?" They all looked at Percy when he suddenly spoke up. He looked sheepish.

"Whatever you say bro." Jason smiles before leading him out. He caught the eye of his girlfriend on the way to door and all she could do is shrug.

I kinda lost hope at the end.

Honestly didn't know how to end it but oh well.
