"It's funny how sometimes the people you'd take the bullet for are the ones pulling the trigger..."
Percy smiled as the rain poured down on him. The droplets cascaded down his face. It was unclear whether or not he was crying but in this situation anyone would be crying.
Percy stopped looking up at the blackness of the sky and looked at the person who stood in front of him with a bitter smile that seemed to hold a whole different world of pain.
"If your going to kill me please make it quick.." His voice was soft but seemed to vibrate through the air and pierce her very skull.
It probed her brain and brung up memories she tried so hard to drown out and keep hidden. She had placed them in the farthest corners of her mind but they just seemed to never let her go.
She sobbed, "I'm s-sorry!"
He smiled once again as red bloomed from his chest and blended in with the rain that fell from the sky. Scarlet painted the sidewalk like a flower and the smell of iron hung heavily in the air.
Beautiful lines and trails of scarlet seeped into the cracks of the sidewalk, ran down the storm drain, and tainted an amazing white flower with the color red.
The sky wept for the two fallen heroes. One who would never wake to see the sun kiss his skin or see the moon play hide and seek with the clouds.
The other would never rest in peace for the rest of her days. The heartbreaking sound of the trigger she pulled will haunt her dreams making her unable to rest easy till death.
"Annabeth?" A voice called out from behind her and she quickly threw the gun to the grass crushing a few poppy flowers in the process.
"Hey guys!" A laugh making its way to her vocal cords and bubbling over to her lips. A smile was placed easily on her face as if she didn't just kill him in cold blood.
"We've been looking for Percy. We figured that you would know where he is?" Thalia asked, a smile on her face.
"Nope! I think he said something about visiting Sally? We should probably leave them alone. Don't want to barge in on family time." She laughed and lead them away with one hand. The laugh seemed like poison. Her lungs burned with the effort to remain calm and not break down.
Piper looked at her warily and for a second she though that she had been found out. "I thought you would be with them since your basically Sally's daughter."
Annabeth's heart tightened and she felt like throwing up. The feeling was overwhelming and she swayed slightly on her feet. That last smile Percy gave her seemed to be mocking her and that didn't she her stomach feel any better.
"They haven't see each other in sometime so I thought that I would give them some space." Her voice was tight and she was sure that Frank could see right through her.
He looked away and gently grabbed Hazel's hand. "You look sick." He said, voice laced with concern and small confusion.
Her smile almost fell before she fixed it once again.
"It's nothing... maybe I should go an lie down..." she trailed off and inched towards her cabin in which she knew she would be safe.
"Okay! Go and rest. I hope you feel better!" Hazel said. Oh sweet Hazel who did not deserve to live in this cruel world. She deserves so much better.
The Demi-gods looked upon Annabeth's back as she quickly scuttled away from them. Something was wrong and they knew it but they couldn't look around without alerting Annabeth that they were suspicious of her.
"We can just ask Chiron to keep an eye out for Percy and see it Annabeth is acting even weirder then before." Jason said as he looked away from the Athena cabin.
The Demi-gods nodded but felt uneasy. They walked away without even turning the corner.

I obviously took the more literal route with the little quote. This is actually my first time doing One-Shots so yeah.

Percy Jackson Oneshots
FanfictionJust a bunch of Percy Jackson stuff. Mostly things I imagine Percy can do or learns. Lol I'm an average writer but I'm trying to improve. There's a lot of ooc-ness. Or out of character-ness. Enjoy! **I DON'T OWN PERCY JACKSON OR ANYTHING ELSE!!!**
