I'm so excited!

Hooray!

Chapter one!

I woke up to the crowing and squawking sound of chickens announcing the rising of the sun.

It's morning. Time for my chores.

I slowly opened my eyes, a huge smile spreading on my face at the light of the sun peaking through the curtains and making me squint.

"Good Morning, South Africa" I jumped out of bed, changed into my old washed off clothes, carefully cracked the garage door open and retrieved my cleaning tools.

I slammed my earphones into my ears, slipped my phone in my pockets and walked to the front of the house and started sweeping.

I danced to the rhythm of the sound in my ears and sang along to the familiar words while sweeping the yard with ease.

I sweep the yard three days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Saturday.

My brother, Lwazi is always away with his friends, He never does anything even when he's around.

My seventeen year old sister, Phila is in charge of doing house chores.

I help her out sometimes when she's not being her usual annoying self.

We always argue over minor things because of her explosive behavior. She doesn't listen to anyone.

She's always been the black sheep of the family.

We are completely different people. She has short black hair, very tall, she has an incredible body.

Unlike me.

After sweeping I neatly packed the tools away and ran up to the bathroom.

I washed off the dust from my tired body, wrapped a towel around my breasts and brushed my stubborn hair.

I have long hair, ends right above my shoulders.

I threw on my school uniform, groaned at the length of my skirt.

I look like an old women.

I banged on Phila's room before barging in and pulled the bed covers off her beautiful tall body.

"What" she buried her face on the pillow.

"I'm getting tired of waking your ass" I slapped her exposed legs.

"I didn't ask you to"

"Whatever.just wake up" I left her room.

"Close the door" she shouted.

I grabbed an apple for breakfast, took my pocket money from the top shelf and took a taxi to school.

I kinda have to be early because I have the classroom key, I'm the class President.

I'm not a teachers pet, no. I'm smart and more than capable of doing my school work. I don't have to suck up to the teacher for good grades.

We don't have lockers here. You carry your backpack around every where you go. We don't rotate classes that much. Teachers come to us, unless they are lazy.

This is a normal public school. Nothing fancy.

We don't go to the Assembly because we have learners from different religions.

I opened the classroom. The room was colder than usual. There's no warmer/heater. You just have to put on more warm clothes.

I swiped my finger on the table and groaned at the amount of dust stuck on my finger. I took out my napkin and wiped my allocated seat and table.
