Chapter 2 - The Rose

Jaylin’s POV

“Hi ate Jaylin. Miss na po namin kayo” Lisa and the other kids started to hug me.

“Ako din. Miss ko rin kayo” I hug Lisa and all the other kids back. We had this family hug.

I’m now actually at the orphanage. Pinatayo namin ang orpahange nato for the kids and also we named it after Claire. ‘The Claire Foundation and Charity’. I, Lola Patricia and Dr. Smitz are the founders of this foundation. Many people coming from business industry is contributing and donating to build this foundation and make it more successful kaya mas madami kaming bata na natutulungan.

“Ms. Jaylin. Let’s start na the program” Sister Mary approached me to simply start our anniversary celebration.

“Okay. Sige po sister. Kasi excited na yung mga bata sa mga games na inihanda natin” I smiled at those kid and wave my hands as they were sitting.

Actually, para mas maaalagaan ng mabuti ang mga bata. Isang simbahan ang mismong nag manage nito and it is run by nuns. Kaya may isang malaking simbahan din ang napagawa namin para mas closer sa vigil para sa mga sister at pati na din sa mga bata. The place is big like a rest house yet enough for the sisters na makita at mabantayan ang mga bata. We first had a mass, tapos yung program agad din nag start. There was a showcase of talents tapos nagsimula ng mag lunch yung mga bata. After ng pagkainan. They had a surprise presentation for me.

“Hali ka ate, sabay kang sumayaw sa amin” hinila ako ni Lisa at yung ibang mga bata sa stage

Then they started singing and dancing kaya pati ako napasayaw at napa kanta na din. I’m very happy knowing that my second life has its purpose. To make little children happy despite their sad story.

Then we started the games. Every kids are having fun. Tapos after the game is giving of snacks. Tapos while giving of snacks. It’s already the time na nag bigay na naman kami ng regalo sa mga kids. We give them new clothes, new shoes, new things and also some of which ay nabigyan ng bagong family. Every annual anniversary some kids we’ll be announce as an official part of a certain family. After silang na pila 3 months ago. Then they will be given time para ma meet at makasama ang pamilyang nagpili sa kanila. This is also a time na e evaluate namin ang gustong mag adopt sa mga bata. Para malaman namin if deserving sila at hindi nila inaabuso ang mga bata. Kaya minsan malungkot man para sa iba ang pagkawala ng kasama nila pero masaya pa rin kasi nakita nila na maligaya na ang kasama nilang bata.

After everything, the kids made a tribute to Lola Patricia, Dr. Alan and Clare. Even if hindi nila nakilala si Claire they never forget to give gratitude and tribute. Anyhow dahil wala dito si Dr. Alan and he’s in States we decided to record the event para naman makita niya ang event na to.

While looking at the video biglang lumapit sa akin si Lisa and she brought me a rose saying “Ate for you”

“Wow. Thank you for this Lisa. Where did you get this rose?” I hug Lisa and give her a kiss on the forehead

“Hindi po galing sa akin yan Ate” sabi ni Lisa

“Huh? If hindi sayo? San galing to?” curious na tanong ko kay Lisa

“Galing po sa gwapong kuya. Tapos sabi niya paki bigay sa babaeng maganda, sa Ate Jaylin mo” sagot naman ni Lisa

“Huh? He knows me?” curious na tanong ko

“Parang ate” Lisa shrugged at sadyang wala talaga siyang ideya

“Anong itsura niya?” pang investigative na tanong ko

“Mataas ate, tapos mabango, tapos mabait, tapos matangos ang ilong at makinis, tapos ang gwapo niya ate. Parang crush ka ata nung gwapong kuya ate” pang-aasar ni Lisa sa akin habang nakangiti

“Uhmm.. Lisa, you’re just a kid ha. Pano mo yan nalaman?” napataas yung kilay ko sa sinabi ni Lisa

Lisa just smiled at me and hug me sabay sabi “Ate, tapos sabi pa ni Kuya Gwapo, I’ll give you a hug daw for him”

“Ewan ko sayo Lisa” nagulat ako pero nakangiti na din

“Excuse me Lisa ha. I’ll check if nandiyan pa ba yung nagbigay ng rose sa akin” Tumayo ako and I looked everywhere pero wala na akong nakitang lalaki sa paligid.

Who might be this mystery man? Bakit niya ako kilala? I heavily sighed and kept the rose he gave me.
