Chapter Ten

I sat in my car for at least 10 minutes before going inside, debating whether or not I should tell Raven about my encounter with Josh and what happened at the premiere. If I did tell her she would probably freak out on me and be upset, but if I didn’t tell her and she found out on her own, World War III would begin…

I finally decided it was best to tell her. I didn’t want to lose our friendship. Sure she would be upset, but she would eventually accept it and get it over it, right? Hopefully.

“Hey, Ray,” I said walking through the door and hanging my keys up on the hook.

“Well hello there my wonderful bestfriend!” she said, smiling from ear to ear.

“Why the happy face, what happened?” I asked, clearly knowing why she was so happy.

“I have the biggest news ever!” she shouted.

“Yeah, I have to tell you something too…” I said shyly.

“Me first! So I was sitting here, reading a magazine and casually looking at pictures of Josh online when my phone started ringing, and you will never guess who it was!!” she said, practically jumping out of her own skin.

“Who was it?” I asked, already knowing the answer.

“JOSH HUTCHERSON!” she screamed at the top of her lungs. “He actually called me! He also said he hoped to see me again one day! That totally means he’s into me and wants to take me on a date! Can you believe it Bella! Josh Hutcherson, the boy I’ve been in love with since I was 12 actually called me and wants to see me again! This is the happiest day of my life!” she said as she fell back onto the couch, arms spread out like an airplane.

“That’s..really great Ray, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up just yet, I don’t want to see you get hurt if he doesn’t actually call again and ask to see you,” I tried to say positively.

“Well thanks for the advice Bella, but I think I’ll be okay,” she told me. “Josh said he wanted to see me again so I think it will happen!”

“Alright,” I said.

Raven let out a happy sigh and smiled before turning to me.

“So what was it you needed to tell me?”

“Oh, um, nevermind,” I said, looking up and giving a small smile.

I watched as Raven got up and danced to her room singing about her and Josh.
