“Josh?”

“Hi there,” he said as he started walking toward me.

Oh god. I hope my make-up didn’t look bad after all that crying… I hope he doesn’t even notice that I was crying… But as he got closer he must have noticed that my eyes were all puffy or something because a worried look came over his face.

“Bella, oh my gosh, have you been crying?”

“Umm, maybe a little…” I shyly said.

“Because of me? Bella I am so sorry! I just wanted to surprise you!” he said, taking me into his arms and giving me a big hug.

“No, it’s okay Josh, I understand,” I said, reassuring him. “But how did you know I would come here?”

“Who do you think sent you that text?” he asked, smiling.

“That was you!?”

“Yep! You said Raven was going out with some friends so I thought that was the perfect idea.”

“Well yeah, you fooled me!”

“Good, that means the surprise worked!” he said. “Now come on, let’s eat before the food gets cold.”

Josh took my hand and led me to the picnic blanket. Turns out Josh can cook just as well as he acts! He made chicken alfredo, mashed potatoes, and a delicious cheesecake for dessert! It was definitely one of the best meals I have had in a long time!

“That was delicious Josh! I might have to come to your house for dinner from now on! I can barely make ramen noodles!” Josh laughed when I said this.

“You can come to my house for dinner anytime you want,” he said, looking into my eyes. He then stood and took my hand. “Come on, I have another surprise for you.

Josh led me past the big tree, with all the gorgeous lights strung in it, to the back side of the hill. Looking out I saw a large gazebo just at the bottom of the hill all lit up and playing music.

“What do you think?” he asked, squeezing my hand a little.

“Josh its gorgeous! What is it for?”

“You’ll see,” he said smiling as he lead me down the hill.

When we got to the gazebo I recognized the song that began playing as ‘You and Me’ by Lifehouse.

“I love this song!” I exclaimed.

“Good,” Josh said. “Then may I have this dance?”

“Of course,” I said, blushing.

Josh took my hand in one of his hands and wrapped the other around my waist. We began dancing around in the gazebo. It was one of the most magical moments ever. I couldn’t help but stare into his beautiful eyes the whole time. Then the chorus began playing:

‘And it's you and me and all of the people

And I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you’

“You know, this song reminds me of when I first saw you,” Josh said, looking at me. “There were so many people all around us, yet I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen and you are so down to earth. You’re different than any girl I have ever met and when I see you, I get butterflies in my stomach.”

“Josh I don’t know what to say…no one has ever said that about me before…”

“Do you remember the other day in the park, when I said I just wanted to find someone that would treat me like a normal guy?”

“Yeah, of course,” I said.

“And then we threw the pennies in the fountain and made a wish?”

“Yeah.”

“Well I wished that I would find that girl, and I think I have…”

At that moment, Josh leaned his head down and his lips met mine. His lips against mine sent an electric shock through me that I have never felt before. It was like everything inside me lit up and in that moment the world seemed to make sense. The butterflies in my stomach took flight once again. It was one of the happiest moments in my life. As our lips parted I looked up into those beautiful eyes and whispered,

“Dreams really do come true.”
