Josh took me downtown to this beautiful park with a huge fountain in the center. On the way there we just talked about our childhoods and ourselves and got to know each other a little better. Once we were there, I hopped out and immediately heard a clicking sound and saw a bright flash. 'Crap!' I thought 'Paparazzi!' Josh must have thought the same thing because he quickly jumped back into his jeep and threw a baseball cap on. I turned around to see where they were and how many of them were taking pictures, only to realize the flash had come from a mother taking a picture of her children playing in the park. I sighed a breath of relief.
"I'm going to keep this hat on just in case the actual Paparazzi decide to show up." Josh said.
"Good idea."
Josh and I walked to one of the benches placed around the fountain and sat down.
"You know, you're different Bella. You're not like all the other girls," Josh began.
"In a good way, or bad way?" I asked.
"Definitely good!" Josh exclaimed. "You treat me like I'm a normal guy, not a celebrity. You know, it may not seem like it would be hard for me to get a girl, with the thousands that practically throw themselves at me, but I can tell you it's not easy. I don't want someone who wants me because I played their favorite character in a book; I want someone who wants me for me."
Wow. I couldn't believe he was opening up to me like this. He really was just a normal guy. A guy who just so happened to star in these big movies, but just wants someone to treat him normal and love him the way any girl would love her boyfriend. I sat quietly and listened as he continued.
"Being a big star isn't all it's cracked up to be. Sure, sometimes it's nice to be known, to be recognized for your passion, but sometimes I just wish I could be normal. I wish I could go out in public and not be photographed and have rumors made up about me. I wish I could go out on a normal date with a normal girl. Be with someone who treats me like a normal guy, someone like you."
My heart stopped. I couldn't believe the words I just heard. Everything he just said totally blew me away, but especially those last words. I smiled and said,
"Josh you deserve just that and more. Any girl would be the luckiest girl in the world to get to know the real you, and make you feel loved. I really hope you find that girl."
Josh looked up and smiled.
"I hope so too."
With that Josh stood up and walked over to the fountain.
"Come on," he said. "Let's make a wish."
Josh pulled out two pennies from his pocket and handed one to me. On the count of three we turned around, closed our eyes, and threw the pennies into the fountain.
"What did you wish for?" I asked.
"I can't tell you, or else it won't come true," Josh said with a wink. "Come on, we have one more stop to make."
Josh smiled at me and took my hand, leading me back through the park. I wanted to tell Josh my wish so bad. I wanted to tell him that I wished I could be that girl.
