If You Only Knew

Chapter Seventeen

I woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon and pancakes. I walked into the kitchen to find Raven standing over the stove.

“What’s the occasion?” I asked her.

“Oh, hey Bella! Umm, there’s no reason, can’t a girl cook breakfast for her best friend without a reason?” she asked.

“Not if her name is Raven Grant,” I said. “If you’re trying to get me to spill about my guy friend it’s not going to happen.”

“Oh come on Bella! Please tell me something, I’m your best friend, you can’t leave me in the dark about this kind of stuff!” she begged.

“Fine. We’re going out this Friday. Happy?” I said.

“OMG! Like a date!?” she squealed.

“I wouldn’t say that, like I said we’re just friends.” I told her, once again.

“Whatever you say Bella, it’s totally a date!” she replied. “Which means we totally need to get you a new outfit! We are so going shopping today!”

“Ughh, fine.”

Once we had finished breakfast, showered, and got dressed, we headed to the mall. Raven once again dragged me into store after store, having me try on countless dresses. However, it wasn’t until the last store that I yet again found the perfect one.

“Bella, it looks absolutely gorgeous on you! What do you think?” she asked.

“I think is perfect,” I said with a big smile on my face.

It was gorgeous dark blue Penelope Skater dress with a big white bow tied around the waist. It came to about mid-thigh and had a tank top cut to it. It was simple, yet gorgeous. I didn’t want to take it off. After Raven practically had to force it off of me, we bought it and left. After grabbing a quick lunch at the food court we headed home. I went straight to my room, hung the dress on a hanger, and sat there staring at it. I hoped that Josh would like it as much as I did. The more I stared at it, the more excited I became for the date. It was like a fairytale. Hundreds of girls went to sleep at night dreaming that they could go out on a date with Josh Hutcherson. For me, that dream was becoming a reality.
