If You Only Knew

Chapter Fifteen

Josh ended up taking me out to get ice cream after we left the park. We sat and talked for another two hours at the ice cream parlor before I realized how late it was getting.

“I should probably get back before Raven gets worried,” I told Josh.

“No problem, I can take you home now,” he said.

Josh led me to his jeep and opened my door for me. I’ve never had a guy do that for me before, it was sweet. We continued to talk and tell stories on the ride home and eventually arrived at my apartment. Josh walked me to the door and turned and said,

“Today was great. Getting to know you was better than I could have imagined.”

“I had a really good time too, and getting to know you was incredible,” I said smiling.

“How about a real date? One where you get to get all dressed up and I take you out to dinner someplace fancy?” he asked.

I wanted to jump up and down and squeal with excitement, but instead I calming said,

“I’d like that,” with a big smile on my face.

“How does Friday around eight o’clock sound?” he asked.

“It sounds perfect.”

Josh gave me a hug and we parted ways.

This day could not have been better even if I wanted it to. I couldn’t believe how open Josh was with me and how real he was. He truly is just a normal guy, but to me he’s more than that. He’s kind, caring, sweet, and sensitive. Everything I could ever hope for in a guy and more. I have never met someone more incredible than him. I can honestly say I think I’m starting to have feelings for him.

I was on cloud 9 as I unlocked the door and walked in. I had a huge smile on my face, but as I shut the door and turned around, that smile disappeared quickly. I looked up to find Raven standing directly across from me with her arms folded across her chest, glaring at me.

“You have some major explaining to do!”
