Chapter 1: House Bound
~~~~
Kiara's POV
I WATCHED as the waves ran up and down on the beach I called home. I loved being outside, and having the warm sun shine down on me. It made me feel alive and free for once.
As I laid down on the beach in my bikini and booty shorts, I was starting to drift off when someone shouted my name. Sitting up quickly, I turned to find Ryan, my best friend since moving here two years ago.
"Hey" I said squinting though the suns glare. As he approached me, I realized he wasn't alone. With a girl strapped under his muscular tanned arm, he waved at me and gave me a bright smile --- almost brighter than the sun.
"Watcha doing?" He asked waving a hand around. " You coming to the party?" He changed the subject and the fake blonde giggled. I didn't really care for her already.
"I was tanning, your blocking my sun." I joked, smiling. "And I didn't know there was one." I said getting up. I heard a gasp from the blonde as she saw how my body was perfect shaped with all it's curves in the right places. I couldn't help but flash a proud smile in her direction, which pretty much said "Your jealous, and I know it".
"Well of course there's one! Me and Amanda are gonna be there, you should come. " he winked. Did he have to bring her? I guess my disappointment showed on my face as the girl flashed me one of her own "Your jealous" smiles.
Waving her off, I made my way back up to my beach house where my mum, well step mum, was waiting probably.
As I took Ryan's non whore side, we walked together in silence till we reached my deck. Letting blondie go, he told her to wait there for him before he followed me up the steps.
"Kay, c'mon," he whined as I grabbed my arm to spin me around. He was the only one ever call me 'Kay'.
"Come to the party." He said as our eyes connected.
"Well, I don't know. I mean, I do enjoy a good party ..." I said looking down at my bare feet. Smiling, I looked back up at him and nodded my head. He grinned and made his way back to Amanda.
When I entered the house leaving them behind, I could here the TV blasting through the hallways. I yelled out that I was home, but I don't think Julie even heard me through the noise. It sounded like Jerry Springer or something around that since I could heard people yelling and Julie laughing.
Smiling to myself I quickly made myself a snack before I went to go find Julie.
Entering the family room, it seemed I was right about TV show. Giving myself a mental pad on the back, I sat down beside Julie. She smiled at me and told me what was happening in the show for what seemed like forever. When I looked at the clock, it was around seven meaning I should probably ask her about the party. I pretty much knew what she was gonna say, but I still wanted an answer.
"Hey, um Julie?" I cursed at myself mentally for my nervousness.
"Mmhm?" She asked still to involved in the show, waiting to hear who was guilty.
"Well there's a party tonight, Ryan's going and I thought--" she cut me off before I could finish.
"No parties! Kiara? I've told you like a billion times! No. No parties." She got off the couch as if to end the discussion, but I wasn't going to take "No" as an answer.
"But Julie! Why can't I go out? What's going to happen to me?! Every time you always say I can't go, but why?!" I pushed. I hated that I wasn't allowed to leave the house. I could only go if she was there with me and I could never leave her side, it was like I was five and I hated it.
"Because I said no!" She yelled back with her eyebrows pulled together and guilt shining through her eyes.
"Why ...?" I signed. I was pretty much ready to beg but didn't want to seem weak.
"I just can't. It's for your own good. I tell you one day." She signed to. It was always the same answer but I never got the answer I truly wanted. " And please don't try to sneak out again, it was as embarrassing for me as it was for you. " she left the room. The memory of her coming to get me flashed in my mind, but I quickly shook it away. I could hear her enter the kitchen and say something but I didn't catch it.
I didn't care that she would track me down to the party, I was still going. I needed to get out of this house, needed to be free and not just in the beach. I pulled out my phone and texted Ryan where the party was and he instantly replied with a happy face, saying he'd drive me. Even though it was a simple thing, it still made me happy. No matter what, Ryan pretty much always knew how to cheer me up, no matter how simple.
As Julie went off to bed, warning she would be checking on me --even though I knew she wouldn't-- I quickly got dressed for the night. I knew that as soon as Julie's head hit the pillow, she would be out cold.
Sneaking out of the house wasn't that hard, it was getting back in, but that was the last thing on my mind.
A/N:
So what did you guys think? I've decided to rewrite my big hit, A Lions Mate.
Why?
So some of you guys are probably wondering why I rewrote this ... Well it's because the originals beginning sucked, and well it was bothering me. I was like fourteen when I wrote and I was just new to Wattpad... Plus I also find it interesting to see my characters in a different way -- and besides some of the comments in the original intrigue me with different ideas so tank ya with dat.
So please comment your thoughts ;) I really need to know abt this
