Sarah's arm still hurt like hell as she got out of her car and walked to the pizzeria. Like the animatronics had said, it was only fractured. But that didn't mean she could use it. She had a weakness. And, this wasn't good as it was only her second night. In her mind she kept asking herself why she didn't just quit. Because I can't. She thought. It had only been one night and it may just have be the worst of her life. But that's what made it harder to let go.
What Foxy had said the night before popped into her head. 'just remember, tonight may be all fun and games with the others, but tomorrow, you're mine.' Tonight, Sarah had an extra animatronic to deal with. The phone rang as soon as she stepped into the office, making her jump 10 feet in the air.
"Uh, hello hello. Uh, hi there. So, you survived your first night. Not bad seeings as you left the office to go with the animatronics. Yeah, if you do that again, you may get more than a fractured arm. Also, if you do go out again, we would highly advise you not to go back into pirate cove. It may not be a pretty sight for the janitor later today. Normally he just checks behind the curtain to make sure no kids are in there. Well anyway, I hope you enjoy your second night. Good luck."
That would probably have to have been the most unsettling phone call in Sarah's life. How did they know all that. And if they did, they must know what happened to the other night guards. Surely not all of them quit. But if they knew all is, how come their still in business. One of the workers must have said something. A running sound out in the hall pulled Sarah from her train of thought. Just before she could touch the button and close the door, a red blur ran inside, causing Sarah to scream.
Sarah stumbled back, landing on the floor and staring up into the silver eyes of Foxy. His eye patch was lifted up revealing both of his hollow eyes. Sarah found herself moving backwards, trying to escape the pits the eyes seemed to contain. It was no use though. Foxy started following her. The more she moved back, the faster he advanced. Suddenly, Sarah felt something cold behind her. The wall. Her eyes widened in fear. Soon, Foxy was right on top of Sarah. There was nowhere she could run.
Foxy lifted his hook high above his head while Sarah cowered in the corner, her good arm trying valiantly to protect her head. Sarah waited for the sharp point of the hook to slice through her skin. But it never came. Not moving her arm, Sarah looked up to see nothing. The was no animatronic standing above her. Nothing was in the room apart from herself. Was she going crazy? Or had Foxy really been there.
Trying her hardest to not use her left arm, Sarah sat up against the wall. Although she had been advised not to go there, Sarah stood up and left the room, heading down the hall towards pirate cove. As she passed it, she looked towards the stage. It was empty. No one was on it. Okay. Maybe this had been a bad idea. She had completely forgotten about the other animatronics. But now she was more careful as she made her way towards the small stage in pirate cove.
The curtain was drawn and behind it Sarah could see no light, but she knew someone was behind there. That curtain wasn't covering nothing. Sarah suddenly felt like someone was gently strangling her. That's when she realised she'd been holding her breath. She let it out as slowly and as quietly as she could. Then mustering up all her courage, she took a step forward and grabbed the curtain. Slowly and gently, she pulled it back, revealing nothing but darkness. Slowly her eyes adjusted and she could make out the silhouette of a fox, standing in the corner.
Sarah took a step closer to the beast, wary of where it's left arm moved. But it didn't move at all. Soon, Sarah was within arms length of Foxy. Only then did he make the slightest movement. He opened his mouth, lifting his head so their eyes met. His eye patch, like Sarah'd seen in the office, was lifted up. Foxy seemed playful and yet, as if he was embarrassed. Like it was taking as much courage for him to look Sarah in the eyes as it was for her to stand this close. Sarah took a step closer and that's when he spoke.
"You came."
