Getting to Know Each Other

I have some things to tell you.

Sarah read the paper then looked at the bear. "Start with your name." She asked, watching him as he bent over the paper to continue writing. Sarah could feel Foxy looking over her shoulder. His face was neutral but she could tell he was reading. She looked back at the paper to see a new message.

My name is Golden Freddy.

Sarah read the paper and thought for a moment before speaking again. "You'll need a nickname. How about Goldie?" The bear nodded before going back to writing.

Firstly, I'm so sorry. I didn't know what I was doing. I wasn't thinking. All I wanted was to get revenge for something years ago. When you were unconscious, I didn't know what to do. So, I took you with me. I should've realised he'd come in. I am so, so, so sorry.

"It's ok. I forgive you." She heard Foxy take in a quick, sharp breath and she looked at him. He was looking at her sideways, disbelief masking his face. She could tell from the way he was looking at her that he didn't agree. She looked back to Goldie, not wanting to have any guilt sink in. If only she hadn't been so god damn clumsy. Maybe none of this would've happened.

Secondly, I want to know why?'

Goldie looked up at Foxy when he finished writing. He didn't speak for a second, gathering his thoughts. Sarah eyed him carefully, "I could go if you want." Said Sarah, taking a step away. She wanted to give them space. She thought maybe it would be better if she wasn't here.

"No, it's fine. It's just hard to explain without the others here. I don't know what they were thinking at the time. If they were even thinking at all." Sarah stopped to stare at Foxy for a second before speaking again.

"Do you want me to go get them?"

"Go get who?" The others came towards them and froze in mid step, starring at Goldie. Like he'd done with Sarah and Foxy, he took a cautious step back. The others seemed to get the hint and as Foxy hadn't ripped him to shreds, came closer. Although they suspected it was slightly because they weren't the only ones here. Foxy handed them the paper and they each read it in turn. Meanwhile, Sarah's parents came over to her. Her dad looked out of place while her mum looked as if she were running the it.

"We need to talk." Said her mum, looming over Sarah.

"About what?" She felt small and timid a she looked up at her mum. Yes. Looked up. She hadn't had to do that for a while but in the past half hour or so, her mum had grown an extra foot or two.

"You'll see." Sarah cast a quick look at Foxy, who nodded, before following her parents over to a nearby table. They sat down. Sarah was next to her dad with her mum across from them, her head resting on the tips of her fingers. This is what she expected an interview with a school principal would be like.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me there was another one?" Asked her mum. Sarah knew what her mum meant by 'another one'. An animatronic.

"I didn't know about Goldie till last night."

"Yes, but yet you didn't think to tell me."

"No, but if I had, I'd like to know when I could've done that. The others did tell you what happened, didn't they?"

"Yes. They made sure to leave nothing out. And to tell me the truth."

"I didn't tell you because I was worried about how you'd react. And again, when could I have done told you?"

"First, you make it sound as if having them try to kill you was better than telling me they were you're friends."

"Mum, you hated the idea of me trusting Foxy. Yet you were ok with the others trying to kill me. It seemed better to keep it that way."

"Anyways. You could've told me when you stopped fighting it."

"Stop calling him 'it'. His name's Goldie. Or Golden Freddy. And I don't know when the fight stopped because I was unconscious. Or did you forget that part?"

Sarah's mum opened her mouth to speak and Sarah was ready to fire back at her when a sharp, quick knocking was heard. Sarah looked up at the door to see the figure of a young man outlined in the glass. She heard a pen hit the floor behind her and turned to see Goldie staring at the door, his mouth open in disbelief. He picked up the pen again as Sarah walked over to see what he was writing. It was only one word.

Mike.
