The Safe Room

Sarah woke in a dark room. Her whole body ached and there were sharp objects like needles poking her whole body. Where was she. The last thing she remembered was the bear and the closet. Wait. The bear. Sarah looked either side of her and saw the bear on her right. It was limp, like how she'd found it in the office. She looked down and realised she was in a suit. A yellow rabbit one. There were arcade games everywhere, none in working order. Cobwebs and dust caked them all. Sarah looked inside the suit and realised there were these springs poking her arms and side and legs. They were bearable except they were annoying where they poked her cheeks.

There was the sound of a door opening and distant laughter and screams. She was in the pizzeria. She had to be. There was the sound of footsteps. They were coming closer to where she was. She closed her eyes and prayed they would pass her. If only luck had been on her side.

"Hello~" A sickening sing song voice said. It was a few feet away but even in the suit Sarah recognised that voice. She opened her eyes and there he was. William Afton.

"You know, you really shouldn't move. Just a suggestion. That suit has been wired to snap shut at the slightest movement. Apart from the neck. I can tell even from here. How long have you been in here? All night or only a few hours? How did you get here?" Sarah watched as he scanned the room. His eyes came to rest on the bear and his mouth set in a hard line.

"You." He spat the word as if it was venom.

"I got the other now I get you and I get the last one tonight. Yay me. All I need now is Susie. Boy today was so great till about an hour ago." Sarah stayed quiet as Afton spoke.

"Guess I'll have to get rid of you. Give the kids their toy back. They're so annoying. And they need so much. Why can't children every be simple. Maybe next time it'll be adults. Definitely not teens, they're even worse. But, I can give you back to the kids after I've had my fun. Good thing I bought my favourite toy too." He removed a knife from his belt and turned on the light. The light glistened off the edge of the knife and Sarah watched with pure horror as the man advanced towards her, helpless to do anything. He raised the knife high, ready to stab it through the gaps in the suit. Sarah closed her eyes tight, preparing for the blow but it never came. Instead, a blood chilling laugh met her ears.

"You're so helpless. I don't know how you've survived this long. You're so pathetic. You really think I'm gonna break the children's toy before they've finished playing with it and have another reason for the police to come questioning. I've had my fair shake of suspicion this week thank you very much. Now, time to get you out of there. I'm not looking for another night guard so soon. I was lucky enough to find you. I'm not going through that again. I don't care about the job, I care about the people always breathing down you're back. It's bad enough having police on your mind 24/7. Employees are even worse."

He took off the head first. According to him it was easiest and always had to come off first anyway. He talked while he worked and Sarah just sat there listening, wishing it would end. She hated being this close to a killer who by the sounds of it, had recently committed some sort of crime.

"Now, I'm gonna have to put you to sleep while I do this it's just easier. No hard feelings." Sarah heard him pick up something heavy and the next thing she knew, there was a sharp pain on the side of her head. She didn't see anything except the bear before she blacked out again.
